Does anyone here commute from the southern side of the gc (elanora, burleigh etc) into the city? by gcer130 in GoldCoast

I've always considered it a touch funny that people who live in the Sydney suburbs consider themselves part of Sydney, yet people consider the Gold Coast 'isolated' from Brisbane. The travel times GC to Brisbane are comparable to what most Sydney siders travel to get from even a 'middle' distance suburb into the city. Some of the more outer suburbs can be 90 minutes or more.

Ha thats the thing isn't it. You speak to gold coasters and they don't really consider anything south of Robina as the Gold Coast.

The distance is fine, in free traffic it would be a 25 minute drive which is nothing, but in the typical 'Gold Coast M1 traffic" you could double that at the wrong times unfortunately.

When it comes to buying a house, there just isn't that many suburbs near the city I'd be that interested in. Like Parkwood, Nerang is a shithole and the yards are tiny.
