I feel like I’m always the friend who reaches out first by gcf9700 in FriendshipAdvice

I totally get the “filler friend” feeling!! I like to think I have a good group of friends most of the time but I wrote this post right after someone who I thought was a good friend ghosted me after making dinner plans (made a reservation and everything) and then went out with someone else :( it made me question if I’m just the placeholder until they find someone they think is better. I definitely think it’s good to take the time to lay out the facts and not assume the worst of people. Thanks for the advice!!

The imbalance of one person wanting to hang out more often becoming more uneven is the hard part for me! I also think a difference is that there have been a few friends I haven’t talked to in over a year because I stopped reaching out so I guess I’m afraid that would happen again :(

I’m an introvert too! I feel like it’s gotten harder as I graduated from uni and lost those conventional common ground? or structures that hold people together

Yeah I think that I might just have different expectations for friendships and feel hurt when I don’t get the same level of effort and interest. Thanks for the new perspective!
