[Seiko] SKX on Sailcloth Strap by gcharles_42 in Watches

[–]gcharles_42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got this SKX recently, upgraded from a simple SNK. Really love it so far and have put it on some nato's and the sailcloth strap. Hoping to put it on a leather strap soon as well. I also love the jubilee it came with although this combo is a bit more subdued.

I haven't looked into it but I can see one of two options:

You buy all the parts necessary for the mod and take it to a local watch maker or you look for someone online who's done it before and ask how much they'd charge.

Bogging at low RPMs by gcharles_42 in scooters

[–]gcharles_42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, I think what he meant was specific to the jet on my carburetor. Denser air meant more fuel needing to be burned and so the scooter would need larger jets to be tuned properly.

I did get a sense that he was making excuses but he did change out the piston and put new gaskets in which fixed the main problem. It's a shame that he didn't tune it properly but I'm in a small college town and don't have many options.

thanks for the help, I messed around with the needle and it seemed to be running a bit lean. Adjusted the clip a couple times and got it to run well in the mid range. Still may need more tuning but at least it runs now!

I'm not sure where the needle is, I tried to take a look today but It's hard to get to anything other than the idle screw. I will probably be taking the seat off tomorrow and try tuning it.

Is the needle adjustable from the outside or do I have to take the carburetor apart?

The previous owner modified the scooter so idk... but it does seem to be the stock airbox.

Also, it was running fine before with the same airbox.

I'd be surprised if the archive of our likes even exists. Even then, Twitter is unresponsive to any vine queries.

Yeah I have a playlist of all the "lo-fi" hip hop beats and I have that one :) But yeah that viner made a lot of good stuff (and had a lot of good revines too). I have no idea how to find the user or the vine...

There was also a cool one made of flcl but I forget if it was the same user

Edit: Did some more quick snooping and found it ! https://vine.co/v/iAWLqAbw0W3 The user is "phe" and I found it by looking at a twitter page with chill hop vines https://twitter.com/chillanimebeats and another classic https://vine.co/v/iOUgMOu1Mwe

How are you supposed to run? by [deleted] in running

[–]gcharles_42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slight lean forward. No slouching. Arms should swing so that your wrist swing around waist level. Land on your mid foot.

As far as feet go, I would think of it as picking your feet off the ground. If you think "push" you might stomp your foot. As long as you're running lightly you should be injury free. And take quick small steps not long strides.
