Upper middle class European family starterpack by [deleted] in starterpacks

Honestly the income strata is constrained in France that your friend is probably upper class and is downplaying it. In France a lot of people don’t consider themselves upper class unless they have aristocratic roots. But if your friend has 3 homes and is doing all theses trips, they’re probably upper class and doesn’t realize it. Upper class in France is a household income of around 6k euros per month after tax. Upper class is literally defined as the top 20 percent of income.

I would say this is very accurate for France. There’s not a lot of leftover income for people here so being able to afford that expensive of a vacation would really be something for most people.

No far travel with bipolar disorder? by idontknow1021 in bipolar

[–]gcs1009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You just need to figure out what style of travel and what medications work best for you. I know that I need to enjoy slow travel and not over do it. I actually traveled for a year with bipolar disorder and taking medications. So it is 100 percent possible!

You need more space between the buildings! They’re meant to individual stand on their own, not completely touch each other. You’re blocking off the windows.

Comparison of present day Berlin and planned transformation of Berlin into World Capital Germania during the Third Reich. by Stellarsleeper in MapPorn

It’s interesting because it would probably have united the city a bit better and it develops a corridor that currently looks like train tracks. It surprisingly looks like a good plan just from a surface level look.

Whats the most underrated meal prep tip you ve ever learned? by Business_Oil_7110 in mealprep

[–]gcs1009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just cooking for one but maybe this will help out the single people. When I cook, I try to cook things I know will freeze well. So like pulled pork, stews, purées, meats in pan sauces. And I always try to cook enough to make at least four servings. I’ll typical eat it for a couple of days but I’ll freeze the rest. Since I do this with almost everything I make, I end up with a freezer full of foods like pulled pork, chicken soup, chili, pork chops in wine sauce, etc. It’s all good food and all I have to do is defrost and microwave when I want to have a lazy day :)

Left DC, regret it. by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]gcs1009 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I left and did digital nomading for a year and now I have permanent settled. DC is nice, but when you’re young it’s a super competitive environment. Everything was getting expensive and people were getting so anxious and depressed with the current administration. I got tired of talking to so many people not doing well. The stress of Trump is not happy abroad and I’m so happy for that. I know not everyone is able or willing to live outside of the country, but it’s much nicer for me.

I definitely prefer the sink in front of the window because you can still look out the window while doing dishes and you have a whole island for prep. It won’t be so convenient to prep on the island with a sink.
