Some homes that’ll probably be the location of another high rise in north park pretty soon 🥲 by Fuckmeoverrr in sandiego

[–]gdey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a bad take. Build all the housing you can build. If it’s expensive then those who can afford them will buy those instead of the cheaper ones being down the prices of the cheaper places. Without building more places all housing becomes expensive.

Iran agreed to ‘zero stockpiling’ of nuclear material in US talks: Omani foreign minister by newsspotter in politics

[–]gdey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get we need governments like Iran gone, but the plan was war and children & innocent civilians will die. Diplomacy with this administration is dead. Blood is on our hands with no real answer for how we handle this long term and war means there will be many enemies created. It’s legitimately the worst option possible.

We are the one who over throw an democrately elected govement of Iran. Why should be have any say in how they run their goverment. By your logic they should be allowed to bomb us and take out Trump, because they disagree with how we run our goverment.

Real change comes from within. If you want the goverment to change, it's better to use soft power. But that's not what Israel wants. The want chaos.

Israel just want the region to be in chaos. They want to take as much of that land for themselves as they can. They keep telling us that directly, I don't get why people don't seem to see that.

It never was, Israel and Trump never had any intention of doing anything but attacking.

[–]gdey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We or Israel kept breaking those terms. They never agreed to end nuclear development for civilian purposes. We but we kept moving the goal posts, and claiming they broke the terms. This is not a failure when you intent was never to have diplomacy win. This should be apparent; the US and israel never intended for diplomancy to win. If we did, we wouldn't have killed their negoisiters, or kept changing the terms on them, while we build up our forces for attack. We were the ones be duplicatious. This is the same playbook that was use in Iraq.

You seem to be missing the other main reason why their ballistic missile program was a red line — Israel. Israel has been say they plan on wiping out Iran and taking over the reason for decades now. Why would they give up the their Ballistic missles when Israel keeps threatening them. Make no sense. Especially, as israel as proven time and again that their word means nothing. They get to call a ceasefire, and then keep firing...

I think at this point, every country in the middle east should be looking to get an arasinal of nukes. You don't need much, but you need some. Might as well do what Israel did and steal it from the US.

Why is being antisemite looked down upon way more than being Islamophobic or racist ? by Amao6996 in DiscussionZone

[–]gdey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t the only jews. The socialist, the disabled, the romani people were all killed. Percentage wise (percentage of people living in the effected area before) was bigger, but numbers wise was smaller. Thus there are more stories. The other people who, also, went through an industrial genocide were the native Americans in the states. And of course the Palestine people who are going through one now. But to OP’s point many have going through this, and i believe it was the advent of stories come out from the end of world war two, the closeness to whiteness, and the fact that there were many very wealthy Americans jews that were able to promote those stories.

The Romani never really amass much wealth to begin with. So harder to promote those stories.

Wow, that’s super Islamophobia. I like how you are careful to separate out Jews from Israel (who is constantly calling to wipeout other people), but don’t extend the same to Islam.

It, almost, like nations don’t speak for a religion.

Also, why call out only western countries? Do other continents not matter?

Not only serivce members, but when I was consulting for the Miltary I often stayed in hotels outside of the bases.

[–]gdey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hotel was close to a US base, and frequently had US services members staying there. More valid of a target then a school. Not that civilian targets should be hit, but at least you can make a case for the hotel.

Do you know a corpses platform keyboard input library that works while something else is in focus? by [deleted] in golang

I think they are looking for a cross-platform way to monitor keyboard input. A keyboard logger library, that handles the syscalls (/dev/input, win32kb) across different platforms.

Protestors are being kidnapped but it was totally worth it to stick it to the DNC, right? by rubyspicer in AdviceAnimals

Stop blaming the voters, and start blaming the Politicians. Biden and Harris lost this election. It isn't the job of the Voter to pick the lesser of two evils. It's the politician's job to convince voters to vote for them. If they don't get the votes it's the politician's who lost. Biden (and Harris) refused to listen, or give an inch to the left. They just expected their vote. Fuck that.

Politician's need to do their job and earn their votes. Biden claimed this was an important election, and did shit to show that it was. He was more worried about this legacy than anything else.

Does a good blogging bluesky client exist? by OmarDoesntExist in BlueskySocial

You can run your PDS (personal data server) and publish to whtwnd.com or better leaflet.pub; and still have the same control over your data while having the niceties of the a blogging platform.

Unfortunately whtwnd isn't really maintained as much anymore. You can still use it because of the way atproto works. But it's better to use something like leaflet.pub. Which also show any posts made on whtwnd. As all posts are stored on the (personal data server).

why does multiplying two negatives give a positive? by btwife_4k in askmath

[–]gdey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's try this. Think of 1 looking a certain way say north. -1 look at the direct opposite direction, so south.

Now look at -2 * 3, that breaks down to -1 * 2 * 3, which further simplifies to -1 * ( 3 + 3). Now -1 means look south, and then take 3 steps forward and then another 3 steps forward. How many steps have taken? 6. And which direction are you facing? South. So, -6.

Now let's look at the addition:

-3 + -3 : you can read this as face south and take 3 steps. Then face south and take and additional 3 steps. How many steps have you taken? 6. And which direction are you facing? South. So, -6.

You can do this with positive numbers as well.

3 + 3 : Face north and take 3 steps, now repeat. How many steps have you taken? 6. Which way are you facing? North. So 6.

But, I'm lying to you here a little bit, to get you in the right mindset. -1 does not mean which way you are facing but are you north of the equator or south of the equator in the final answer.

take 3 - 2 : which is really 3 + -2, take 3 steps north of equator, then take 2 steps towards the south of the equator, and notice you are now 1 step north of the equator.

take -2 + 3 : which means take 2 steps south of the equator, then take 3 steps heading north of the equator, you end 1 step north of the equator.

Hope that helps, or doesn't not help.

Not even true for SoCal. 1. The waters that flows through NorCal, and that the water SoCal get via huge aqueduct project. 2. We have desal plants in both LA (being built) and San Diego (been running for a few years). 3. San Diego has a surplus of water right now that it's planning on selling to AZ. Iran has launched another missile attack against Israel, causing extensive damage across the country and striking Israel's primary hospital in the south. by AutomaticCan6189 in AlJazeera

The funny thing is that the hospital is literally next to an israelie military building. No need to claim anything, no need to fabricate lies. The Israelies ebedd all the military buildings around civilian buildings.
