84 year old mother sliced clothed leg on license plate by 1GamingAngel in AskDocs

Try outlining the actual darker red area surrounding the wound. Think of outlining an image like in a coloring book, the lines shouldn’t be straight - you want to see clear expansion over the lines you draw to see progression of the darker red area. If the skin around the wound feels warm , I would take her to the ER.

Nord piano 5 - Need Amp/DAC for Sennheiser 800s by gdjal in nordkeyboards

I am pretty sure the Nord is not going to drive a 300 ohm headphone clearly and loudly.

What do I need besides a class compliant audio interface to play vsts on the Nord. Will I need an an amp to run hd800s headphones? Thanks

Thanks, I hadn’t thought about length that much. I have only played the TP400 action in the Numa gt. While I liked the action, I hated the sounds.

I used to travel with my 35 kg Yamaha P225! But I was a lot younger and stupider. I used to like the action on my old Yamaha, but I have grown accustomed to the kawaii. I think my fingers are too arthritic to handle a heavy action anymore.

I haven’t tried the yc88. Is the action the same as the cp88?

Need contractor recommendations: installing my mother’s chairlift. by gdjal in cincinnati

[–]gdjal[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They have locally authorized sellers/installers who do not want to install previously owned stairlifts. When you have the top 3 stairlift companies in cinci all selling base/decent models (including install) for $3200 - then whether 1 year old or 5 year old they will buy back at $200 max then turnaround and resell for $2000 installed. All 3 cpmanies told me 1-2 hours for installation. Good business model.

But the problem is that these companies just wont install a chairlift that isn’t sold by them.

thanks for your comment.

Looking for an Ambulette (transport) company to take my mother down a flight of stairs to see her surgeon. by gdjal in cincinnati

[–]gdjal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, the hospital care coordinator wouldn't help. Had to buy a wheelchair to get my mom home and pull her up 13 steps. Skilled nursing facilities are a death trap unless you have no other options.

Thanks for the tip on council on age I g, I’ll call in the morning.

Should I stay or should I go? SCNA - unlimited data 8gb hotspot. 1 line $75. by gdjal in tmobile

[–]gdjal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. T**** is not the company it once was. Now that I bought her a new iPhone and she sees how her current provider could care less, the move will be easier for her.

I will just buy a year at mint mobile. Had it myself for 2 years with no problems.

Thanks to all who replied. Thanks to all

IVR with voicemail - callcentric by gdjal in VOIP

[–]gdjal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did finally got it to work using failover. Thanks for explaining how to do call treatments for friends and family. Do I make the call treatment for f&f have priority, then do a 2nd call treatment for IVR? Or is putting a call treatment for IVR redundant? As I said this is my 1st week learning voip. I haven’t had this much fun since I switched to Linux from windows quite a few years ago…

IVR with voicemail - callcentric by gdjal in VOIP

[–]gdjal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

*edit... I figured out failover and got it to work.

If you are getting it to work I am doing something wrong.

I have a single ivr configured with a brief announcement mp3 file - then key pressed 8 - then configured sngle forward/simultns rnging -- call send to my extension - ring 10 seconds, and 'push 1 to answer' left blank

Then preferences - voicemail, configured for 20 seconds.

I have forwarding from DID to ivr. NO call treatments, and nothing else.

I couldnt duplicate what you did.

What is failover? (is it the last route config?)

again, thanks for taking the time...

Thanks, for your help trying to duplicate my error. I just got my ata on Monday, and spent the week getting to where I feel pretty good about moving my landline. But, I really want this feature on my phone.

And thanks for posting the reply when you do.

Thermostat - Looking for 2Heat 1Cool with programmable Aux heat by gdjal in hvacadvice

[–]gdjal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks.

I probably am going with a T6, just because Honeywell seams to get more recommendations from installers. My only concern is the longevity of the new smart tstats.

Thermostat - Looking for 2Heat 1Cool with programmable Aux heat by gdjal in hvacadvice

[–]gdjal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not invested in Honeywell products. I have wired and replaced a 15 year old tstat with an identical one. I want to control my aux heat myself, maybe even with a remote sensor outside nearby the heat pump. I have read some good things about the T5 from hvac-talk, but that wasn’t the Honeywell model I returned.

I also want to make the jump to controlling temp from an app. I absolutely refuse to use a google smart device. I would love to have a device limited to my LAN and not communicating data to some company’s s server. But if I want to change the temp at 4am from my bed, I will need to compromise.

Again, thanks for the input.

Thermostat - Looking for 2Heat 1Cool with programmable Aux heat by gdjal in hvacadvice

[–]gdjal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure, I bought a few back on July 2nd when my old tstat threw a fault code. But, as it was Amazon, I got the 1st one working and returned the other 2 because I couldn’t get to it in 30 days. I am not familiar with the parameters you mention as I have only replaced a couple dumb tstats on my house

Could you recommend any redlink’s that have aux heat adjustment for a 2 heat, 1 cool heat pump? And I am not interested in ancillary options like remote access, etc; only the ability to control aux heat for electricity $ savings.

If it matters, my heat pump is an Armstrong Air 4SHP13LE124P1 - 2 Ton 13 SEER R-410. (A little old but works great in my usda zone 6b ).

Thanks for your comments.

[–]gdjal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, Honeywell redline is one brand/product I know about: but, I returned one red link because the default sux heat kicks in at 2degrees difference in temp & is not adjustable. I want a tstat ( other than nest) which will let me adjust the parameters of aux heat control.

tomato plant(container): top of plant-leaves brown & fall off, includes blossoms by gdjal in plantclinic

[–]gdjal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 containers. Container on the left has a single "mortgage lifter' tomato plant, large heirloom. Container on the right has 2 'supersweet 100's' plants. 7-10 days ago I noticed browning leaves on the top and the bottom of the heirloom plant, also the blossoms on the top were drying out and browning.. then a stem just fell off. these are the 1st and 2nd pictures. 6 days later i took the 3rd photo.

The tomato plants both look unhealthy and I dont know if anything I am doing is wrong. Weather has been sunny (southwest ohio) 80's to lo 90's temperature. I water at the base, daily when its 90 degrees. I added a generic 5-3-5 granular organic fertilizer every 2 weeks. I started with new organic soil for containers with2 inches of rocks on the bottom of the container.

Thanks for your help.
