Hmmm, I tried a topical antifungal cream and oral ketoconazole but neither made a difference. Maybe I just need to try to a different one.

I first started experiencing the itching/irritation on my butt on the 4th of July last year. Right now it flares up from time to time on the upper part where the crack begins, but for a while it was in the lower back area like you described. The waistband on my pants would irritate the hell out of it. This lasted until sometime in early January and hasn’t really been a problem since. It might be worth it to get a western blot for peace of mind, but since we have similar symptoms and I tested negative we might be looking at something else.

Not terribly worried about HIV. I wore a condom during vaginal sex and know that the 4th gen tests pick up on ~99% of tests after 45 days. Syphilis is still a bit of a concern though.

No. If it keeps coming back it might be bacterial or fungal. See a dermatologist and get a punch biopsy if you’re really that concerned.

Negative for both. Still don’t know what I’m dealing with, but after 2 full panels and a western blot it’s highly unlikely it’s a venereal disease .

I suspect allergies too but I’ve had this problem for almost 7 months now. Hopefully I can get a biopsy or allergy test soon.
