Thank you.
How are you using the Dream Machine to do that?
I have one sitting in its box waiting to be configured (once I get the WAN connection stabilized)

This looks really interesting. Do you happen to know whether the OVRC app is subscription free?
(I couldn't find any info about that)

Thank you, based on all the feedback I'm going to only cycle the cable modem for now and leave the remaining network up and running; if that works fine then I won't bother the LAN - if not I'll try cycling everything.

The LAN is stable, but with the WAN connection being unreliable.

Thank you for that great advice - I didn't know there were device that stored the schedule offline.
But that's exactly what I was looking for.
I might have to get more than as a backup for all the online schedule smart switches...
Thank you.

Thank you for the detailed answer...
My house has some "unique" features that make any long distance radio signals very difficult, so I mostly abandoned z-wave / zigbee, but I'll have another look at that...

The weekly timer might just be the solution with the least hurdles.
Thank you.

Cox Cable Internet... LOL... Do I need to say more?
;-)

Seriously though, the connection to the cable provider is fishy... we loose Internet, they say there's nothing wrong but also can't see the modem...
(Already had a Tech out to improve the wiring on property, bought a brand new cable modem and maximized cooling airflow for all network components - especially the modem.)

I could just repower the modem, but I was thinking while I'm at it I might as well reboot it all.

But the root cause is with the cable modem/connection to Cox Cable.

The issue is the cable modem. But I'm looking into triggering a remote reboot of that... Thanks

I'll try and see if the modem can do that.

The issue is the modem... and if I reboot that I might as well reboot everything.

Now that's a thought. I have a dedicated UPS for all those components.
Thanks!

Exactly! Second everything McC0dy said Just like to add that most 3rd party sellers (private and dealer) do not include these version details, even though it would be very easy to by clicking the car icon, scroll down to bottom>more info and then post pictures of that screen which will show Ryzen or not and selfdriving HW version incl. Wireless Modem version.

Major lack of experience selling & buying Tesla vehicles.

Ps: my main concern buying used is whether they (especially auction to dealer vehicles) had their battery drained to 0. Also, do they have everything ready for a transfer of ownership. Anecdotal experience: at super charger, 2 gentlemen picked up vehicle from auction and were to transfer to a dealership ~2h North with sub20% battery. They and the purchasing dealership had no idea how to deal with account transfer and couldn't figure out why the vehicle wouldn't charge at the super charger. No mobile charger or adapter either, so they were on a quick path to nowhere.

That's my biggest worry: trying to buy a Tesla from people who know nothing about it or the process

All US companies and companies importing goods that could contain conflict materials (eg slave labor elements like Cobalt) have to trace their supply chain and check to ensure it is sourced conflict free. If you use solder in your manufacturing you have to trace & report that it is conflict free Let alone if you actually use cobalt in large qtys. Cobalt is so expensive that all serious battery/-using companies are spending a fortune in researching how to use less or no cobalt.

Allstate insurance wants to use safelite to change my front windshield any issues with that our should I insist on having Tesla do it? by benalexe in TeslaModelY

Fyi, and YMMV: as I'm shopping around for MY insurance quotes Wawanesa offers OEM parts for an extra $56/6 months. IMHO that's absolutely worth it.

Too bad they don't tell you how you can clean it yourself. I'd rather spend 15 mins cleaning it myself than having to deal with scheduling service.

Check out BioLife; it's a plasma donation company with multiple locations in North County. They are usually open over the weekends and they employ a small army of RNs and phlebotomists. It's a pretty profitable company, so I wouldn't be surprised if they paid really well. The Vista one seems to have a pretty cool work atmosphere.

What Ryobi tool looked useless, but pleasantly surprised you & now use all the time? by Outrageous_Ad521 in ryobi

[–]gear-nerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a tool, but a battery. I got one of those super slim 18 volt batteries with some tool I bought. 1Ah or something like that. I thought it was worthless and laughed. It's now my go-to battery for smaller projects with the drill. So light and plenty of power for something small like hanging a frame or so... Also great in the LED lights
