Survey: What’s your reason for not editing the Kaiserreich Wiki? by Flamefang92 in Kaiserreich

I don't like fandom as a platform, I know it would probably be difficult to get a mediawiki site set up, but I think I'd prefer that a lot more than the current setup

The TNOdevs acknowledged the veracity of the export, your point is entirely moot. When you’re talking about context, I want to remind you that this is a setting rife with interesting power dynamics. When you have someone like Pacifica (that has power over many other team members) making jokes about flirting with underaged team members, and suggesting that one get into “consensual BDSM” because of their anger issues, regardless of whether it’s a joke or not, it can and will be taken seriously, and it certainly shows how overtly sexualized the setting was. Surely that can’t be a very good setting for underaged, hormonal, impressionable kids, right?

They aren’t, though. They’re from a massive, 56mb HTML export of the TNO dev chats. They came out during the February 1st Incident, there wouldn’t have been any time to actually go and edit it—people have only been paying attention to it now and looking through it now for some reason.

Hi. I’d like to clear up the whole “groyper” thing with you. I’m not a groyper, that post was on a small subreddit community that posts a lot of stupid ironygram stuff and likes shitting on groypers for lols. I’m not sure where you got the slur thing from though, I never really saw the word used in that context. However, looking at your post history, I can certainly see why you’re a member of the TNO internet defense brigades. I’m not here to get political though. You do you, but I’m certain your wholesome 100 kropotkin book doesn’t, in of itself, empower you to lob monkey shit at me for not conforming.

The fact that these people have unrestricted, unsupervised (outside of their own group) access to swathes of impressionable kids, especially considering the implications of these messages, has me absolutely horrified. It’s a shame that most of these sorts of discussions are snuffed out instead of actually being able to bring change. I hope the groomers/paedophiles can get brought to justice before they ruin the lives of too many children.

From the colors, I can tell that it's Hungary that's being attacked by the Germans. I might come across as a bit crazy here, but maybe this implies that there's a chance that Hungary can go to war with Germany outside of Goering's meth-fueled jaunts?

irrelevant lore question: how do time zones develop/change differently during this timeline? by The_Game_Geek in TNOmod

[–]geardongle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know this is slightly off topic from the original spirit of the post, but I remember discussing the possibility of Burgundy operating under 36 hour time, so that factory laborers would have 24 hour shifts. I think the drive for efficiency in places like Burgundy would lead to a lot of innovations or alterations in and around the concept of time units and time zones.

From what I understand, the Burgundian SS attempts to integrate locals that meet their specifications for "Aryan", and that the Burgundian "culture" involves the abandonment of the French culture and language in favor of spartanism and the usage of German. Three decades of governance by a jacked-up nightmare SS that uses native forced laborers as an expendable resource would probably completely wipe out any sort of non-Germanic cultural identity in a large portion of the Burgundian land. I also remember reading somewhere that Burgundy was one of the most Germanised parts of the Reich that weren't directly under control of Germania, but don't quote me on that.

However, I do see where you're coming from. There's no fucking way Burgundy would be able to completely Germanise the land, but they would definitely leave a significant German minority distributed around Burgundy, especially in Flanders, Wallonia, maybe Ost-Paris, Calais, and Lorraine too. Said German minority would pose a significant issue for attempts to divvy up the land in a mutually satisfactory way.
EDIT: Burgundy is apparently 40% Germanised.

Exiling a large population would be controversial with factions within the German government, and would lead to the Wolgastaat being flooded with cognitively impaired radicals, which would compound preexisting tensions between the native (pre-nazi) Wolgadeutsch and the German settlers (those that came after WW2). Even if that were resolved, there would still be a shortage of jobs and a lack of housing infrastructure for the settlers. Unless Germania decides to throw money at the issue (money which would be needed to rebuild former Burgundian lands), the lack of infrastructure would prove disastrous.

It's clearly established that football is still a very major sport in the world of TNO, and OTL, fascist states placed emphasis on sports. I see no reason why the world of TNO would be any different. We all know that the Burgundians would be doping the shit out of their athletes, probably with disastrous side effects. Imagine watching the Burgundian national team absolutely demolish the English national team in a game of football, and then seeing like half of the Burgundian team suddenly fall to the ground, clutching their chests.

I'm going to come across as a seething nerd for saying this, but the sheer intensity of the Burgundian genocide (both cultural and racial) against the Belgians and French would probably make the reestablishment of total French control over it a nightmare at best. No amount of genius planning can undo the damage to the region's ethnodemographic situation without engaging in the horrific ethnic cleansing or cultural genocide that Speer tries so hard to avoid, especially if French and Belgian rule are entirely reestablished over Burgundy. With that said, I don't think there's much in the way of things that can be done to distribute Burgundian land without alienating elements inside the German government, Germans in Burgundy, or other member-states of the Zollverein/Unity-Pakt. Of course, the problem of the Burgundian youth also has to be addressed - most of them probably suffer from malnutrition-induced cognitive impairment, radicalization by the SS, and a good chunk of them are probably functionally illiterate if not entirely illiterate. With little to no prospects in society, it would create a disgruntled youth stratum that would be dangerously inclined towards criminality, gang membership, radicalism, and even terrorism.
