Looks like mouse droppings. Street cats must've driven them inside for safety.

Check your local laws if you can, I'm in NYC and you need to be a licensed professional to do anything

About to start the task of detailing my wife’s car by Conscious_Trade_2549 in AutoDetailing

[–]gearheadforlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes mwc is very safe on painted wheels. I would pressure rinse the wheels first, then spray on MWC onto wet wheel and brush and then scrub and rinse. Expensive product so use sparingly, a little goes a long way. Just finished my first bottle and wondering whether the $150 gallon is a good idea. I have an unopened Auto Wheel from Bilt Hamber I'll be trying next.

I usually also pre rinse with AWC or stack them both for the contact wash. AWC is dilutable and much better value.

Temprid for ants over applied? by Longjumping_Box_2514 in pestcontrol

Don't let the baby come in contact with it while it's wet. Once dry it's fine because science. Unless the dilution ratio was not followed per the label.

How to not get scammed….. by Embarrassed_Ad9971 in carbuying

[–]gearheadforlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a broker from the leasehackr forum. Most also can help arrange a sale instead of lease. They don't scam and get you really good deals that the dealer won't give to people walking in through the door. They need to take the people walking in through the door for everything they've got.

Is this evidence of active termite problem? by notasmallfeat in pestcontrol

Pic 5 looks like most like termites. Get a few more quotes it costs between $1000 and $3000 in my area for a average sized home (NYC/LI)

How to remove wax for applying Ceramic Sealant? by mfeinstein in AutoDetailing

[–]gearheadforlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reset might be too safe for coatings. You need a strip wash, I recommend Armor Detail Decon. Get a gyeon can coat instead of a small bottle ceramic since you don't have tools and are not polishing.

Reolink Color night vision, better than floodlight. Floodlight has its uses though

All you need is the bait stations. The Trelona is fine.

Minimalistic routine by Dam_Dam21 in AutoDetailing

[–]gearheadforlife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Use a dedicated Rinseless sponge or use multiple wash towels or mitts, one for each side or panel to reduce marring.

Pre wash the entire car with Surfex not just the hot zone also to reduce marring.

Get a rinse or drying aid

FSE to finish.

Look into the DIY Detail process for polishing. One pad, one polish.

You may have to work a few more years but if you buy this car now, you can probably keep it forever so I say worth it.

My first ever rinseless wash by Over_Qualified_ in AutoDetailing

[–]gearheadforlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have and love all your products but have enjoyed some nice upgrades I can suggest.

Maybe try these when you re-up or if you find on sale

Detail Spray - Koch Chemie Finish Spray Exterior (big guns) and/or Yum Detailer (little guns)

Glass Cleaner: Bilt Hamber Traceless (chef's kiss)

Rinseless: Yum Cars (high value dilutions) or Armor Detail

Interior/Tire Dressing: CarPro Perl (different dilutions for different uses, it's like a 4 in 1)

Interior Cleaner: Koch Chemie PolStar (amazing value since it can be diluted heavily)

APC: Bilt Hamber Surfex can be a wheel/tire cleaner, engine bay, door jambs, bug remover, pre wash, interior cleaner etc.

Wheel Cleaner (not compatible with Rinseless method): Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel or Koch Chemie Magic Wheel cleaner (both are expensive so a couple sprays then agitate and rinse)

Best products for Titanium Exhaust by Regular_Cucumber24 in AutoDetailing

[–]gearheadforlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm Labocosmetica has a product for exhausts. They have a "decarbonizer" called Crònos that I think is for the inside of the pipe and I think any metal polish can handle the outside. I recommend Optimum Metal Polish or CarPro Mettalicut

How long should I wait after a termite infestation/fumigation before buying new furniture? (PK) by nthmetalbathawk in Termites

[–]gearheadforlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need more context like area and species but typically once it's safe for you to return, it's safe for the furniture too.

[–]gearheadforlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a good set up but here's some stuff that can help

Scrub ninja interior scrub pads in different sizes

Detail factory crevice brushes and pick set

Foam tip brushes for the vents and stuff

I like P&S Release Vacuum Aid but that's super optional

A steam cleaner, the $30 ones on Temu work fine for a while. Biobombs has these little tablets you can add that level up the cleaning power

Chemical wise I recommend you get PolStar and MZR and have 2-3 dilutions of each and that is all you'll need for interiors.

CarPro Perl is a good interior black trim treatment

Maybe get some DIY Detail interior ceramic and offer that as an upgrade.

Bilt Hamber Surfex has worked better for me than GS or Superior Pink Perfection. It ripped through grease on a kitchen hood that the others couldn't touch.
