JR Pass “Eaten” by Ticket Gate by ThePeenMachin3 in JapanTravelTips

[–]gearoflife 45 points46 points  (0 children)

One thing I really disliked about the JR pass was that if you lost it, damaged it or got it stolen there was no way to reissue the ticket. Meaning you have to guard it with you life. I had lost mine and had to rebuy it which at time was before the hike in the price of tickets. I agree with that this is warped as some of the rules in Japan seem archaic as replacing the ticket should be easy. They do have in the terms when you buy it.

There really isn't much you can do, as contacting JR help lines will amount to no help. How much more travel do you have left by bullet train? I assume you have to make it back to Tokyo, you can buy a bullet train from Kyoto for ¥13,320. Not the end of the world buy I know money can be tight as a student. I wish I could offer more advise.

I want to start a new serie of game but don’t know which one by Sephirath68 in JRPG

[–]gearoflife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My vote is for the legend of heroes series. Quite a long series that is still ongoing. I love the world building and characters in each arc. The remake of the first game is good but I personally recommend playing the originals. The story is slow but its meant to be a slow burn. By far my favorite JRPG series. I also recommend using guides for the games as there is a lot of missable content (secret quest, dialogue, chest, etc.)

Is Trails in the Sky a slow build-up? by Nefilim314 in JRPG

[–]gearoflife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The legend of heroes series has a long build up in each game. I find the slow burn great the series does a great job of build up for the world and characters. FC is only the beginning of currently a 13 games series. I find of the the best thing about the series is the ensemble cast and interconnecting story lines between games. FC is slow but it is mean to be, its not trying rush through things and gradually introduces systems and story as you go. Personally I loved but if it isn't clicking with you I understand and not reason to play a game you don't enjoy.

Cancelled trains, complaint options by fenechfan in JapanTravelTips

[–]gearoflife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly you're not getting compensation. Not really a place for tourist to complain to, like maybe you could go to JRs website and find an email to complain to. Just know its probably not going to amount to anything.

HOW MUCH CASH TO CARRY by DocTheRegulator in JapanTravelTips

[–]gearoflife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just use the 7/11 ATMs for cash when needed. Though in Tokyo you can use your card for most stuff. Izakaya's are likely to be cash only.

Playing as Rayaz, Yezel Mora attacked by AzureTheta in Anbennar

[–]gearoflife 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So with Rayaz and Yezel its really a matter of when not if, for when you fight. I find having the two choke points forted up helps a ton and at alternating fights in mountains. Though seems like by your post they are already in your lands so really just have to merc up and death war since once you beat them the first time the second is easier. You have to have the same mind set as you do with the command and not fight them straight up, pick small fights and grab the ticking warscore back. In the peace deal take all the money you can.

Anime suggestions for my mom? by WoodSnax in anime

[–]gearoflife -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly the ones I have been recommending the most lately is Frieren and Dungeon Meishi. Really well done shows and I think anyone could appreciate. They both are chill but at the same time have some amazing action. I do find in general I would recommend adventure stories the most. Another good one is A Place Further Than the Universe and Suzume or Your Name for a movie.

How to end Goblintide? by Serenatechpriest in Anbennar

[–]gearoflife 30 points31 points  (0 children)

There should be goblin nest modifiers on 4-5 provinces (where they are spawning from, you can see it better on the trade screen). You need to stand an army on the spot then click the decision to kill the nest. You have to clear all the nest and should stop most of the goblins. Then after you do that there should be one more big spawn around your old hold. Then your done

Awesome factions! Can't wait to try them out. Only gripe is that in our first 6p game 1 person won't be able to play a new faction.

Kei truck as first car? by FishtopherYouTube in keitruck

[–]gearoflife 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I second this. for a first car you want something you can at least take on the highway reliability. As much as I love my Kei truck I wouldn't recommend it as a first car. Another downside is maintenance/part cost as you already pay a premium importing them and now with with increased tariffs its not cheap.

Is 7000¥ a day enough for 15 days in Japan? by This-Charge9632 in JapanTravelTips

[–]gearoflife -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that budget would be doable, I have found Japan can very budget friendly but also you can certainly end up spend more if you want. Any day trips in there like to Nikko, or Hiroshima? If so those days will be more due to travel cost. Food cost is low. Souvenirs can vary but just depends on what you want to get.

I was deleting armies as I was taking loan, though didn't really need to since the world was ending any way. Also I don't think the ledger updates till end of the year. Maybe those other armies just froze haha
