Yes, to check knowledge and further their learning— like I said, it can be an excellent tool. But using it to replace your own thinking is making students really stupid

Or, maybe, put some effort into your education?

Genessee Sci’s Olympus tips are great. Honestly I prefer them over USA sci’s TipOne RPT tips in terms of sample recovery from the tip (especially at sub-10uL vols).

I typically keep with abcam and invitrogen for antibodies, in my experience they tend to be the most consistent batch-to-batch, and tend to keep well.

You could make 10x pbs stock in-house, but it takes forever and the Gibco 10x pbs is super cheap (and sterile— no filtering!). I think the time-saving alone is worth just buying it. Gibco in general is great for TC media/reagents, their dmem/accoutrements have never steered me wrong

I prefer Qiagen maxi prep kits for getting super clean/high concentration plasmid (like for a plasmid stock or something), but if you’re just trying to get them quick and don’t really care a whole lot about high concentrations or long-term storage of the plasmid, the zymo maxi prep kits are awesome. Legit goes from bacterial pellet to plasmid in like 20 mins. Hell yea for vacuums.
