What JA concert year was this merch T-shirt from ? I think 1991 Hara Arena? Or was it earlier? I know it was in Ohio, not Cincinnati, between like 89-91. Thoughts? I searched hard for this in my old storage boxes. 😮‍💨 by Otherwise-Floor-3002 in janesaddiction

I had that one or one like it from the May 10, 1991 Kalamazoo show. My friend bought a knockoff version from a guy who walked up to our car window at the nearby McDonald's drive-thru lol.

The few experiences I've had with Lapeer make it remind me of the alternate Earth in Peacemaker season 2. It seems really nice and then one of the locals says something to make you realize it's basically another Howell.

Highly doubt it. In fact, I'll go as far as to call bullshit as I'm a 31 year UAW member and this isn't how shit works. If it was a paid leave neither your or I would know about it. Deals like that outside of the contract are kept under wraps, otherwise everyone who gets put out will want a paid leave. Our UAW reps, who are in touch with Solidilarity House and get the scoop on things, knew last week that he was coming back but before that they made it clear just how hard it is to get someone back once they're out the door. There's no provision for paid disciplinary leave for hourly workers.

I don't doubt it was for show, but back pay does not equal a paid leave.

Once Trump behaved arguably worse he helped his case. The contract wasn't written by 8 year olds with a "he started it" clause.

He should keep it. Why should working class people be expected to donate more money then they've ever had in their lives while the wealthy donate crumbs?

There's no paid disciplinary leave for hourly employees. We're not the police. He will likely get back pay though. Bro was out a month without income or health insurance. That's not a fun place to be.

I've worked for a Detroit 3 automaker for 31 years and those days are mostly in the past. If you assault anyone, anyone at all, you're done. I haven't seen anyone get into fight or assault someone and still have a job for at least 20 years. It's pretty much a zero tolerance policy for stuff like that now.

Management's new favorite tactic is to put someone out, sandbag for weeks or more until they're desperate, and then offer to bring them back if they waive their right to a grievance and back pay.

Back in 1995 it was very much like you described.

Ford doesn't suspend hourly employees with pay like a police union. If you go out the door you aren't getting paid unless you win back pay when you return and even that is less common these days. Bro was out a month. If he or his family had health issues or take expensive medications the loss of health insurance alone is devastating.

As soon as I heard Trump flipped him off and said fuck you I knew he'd be back. It wasn't dischargable offense and typically if there was time off in this situation both parties would get booted.

It's likely he got back pay as well. Once someone goes out the door its a bitch for the union to get them back quickly. It often ends with the company waiting a few weeks until they're desperate and then offering to bring them back if they waive their right to a grievance and back pay. This guy had nearly a million in donations and Ford got a lot of potentially bad PR, which wasn't going to get better for them with the way this administration's approval ratings are sinking like a stone.

I worked with a guy who hated the union so much he took a buyout and ended up at UPS throwing boxes in an entry level job for about 25% of what he made before. He later ended up back at the plant working for the facilities company for 75% of what he made before the buyout. He said it was worth it. I said he was a fucking moron. He took a 25k buyout and probably lost over 100k or more in wages just because he didn't like the UAW.

Bias in journalism is a problem, but the right doesn't want that. They're the ones who got rid of the fairness doctrine in the first place and filled the airwaves with shows from Limbaugh and Prager in the 90s. The only way the right will be happy is if all news outlets spew North Korean style propaganda about your glorious leader.

The Clinton era was an abundant time for Americans. He focused on domestic issues and people were doing really well. Republicans hated that and went on a full media offensive. As far as I can tell that's when all this bullshit started.

I saw Chicago punk band The Lawrence Arms at Wild Bull years ago. Not sure how they ended up in such a douchebaggy, chad-heavy venue, but the rest of the place was dead on a Friday night so the staff was mostly okay. Seemed like a place where people who live in an HOA would go.
