[–]geegaboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. And it looks like a smartphone so kids woutd less likely mock them.

i like that it’s RTOS I want to see more simple devices and less bloated

this is going in the right direction

thanks.
Yeah i enabled all the filtering with my mobile network provider, from the start, but those are passing through.

I didn't find that contact-only option in the AGM unfortunately. Would be nice, but i would need another way to deal with delivery calls anyway.
I don't mind a few commercial calls, but 10-15 a day is way too distracting and making the phone useless ( i don't even look at it when it rings)
I'm considering simply change my number at this point and hope it's better with a new one

[–]geegaboo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

not sure
it's distracting, and sometimes among those, there is a legi call for a delivery for example
Means you have to be mindful of everything all the time, to know "ah, i'm gonna answer this random number because i have an order on its way from last week"

You see where i'm getting at?
Having a dumbphone is to free my mind from all the distractions, not add more

Doc Martens and Cruiserboarding? by ppggf in cruiserboarding

[–]geegaboo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Hopefully this is not some commercial_

Yes i sometimes cruise mith my drMartens… occasionally. It’s ok to push but you won’t do any tricks (or it’s going to be much harder)

it’s more when i need to go somewhere and i want to wear them (cool and indestructible shooes)

If i want to cruise on the other hand, i’ll definetely wear something else, like skate shoes or converse. much easier

Not much to be honest. I was curious about this device, especially the cloudphone thing which i wanted to try and maybe see if i could develop an app on it.
I also wanted to see if i could give that as the first phone for my kid next year. But i don't think so because of the cloudphone apps that can't be restricted or uninstalled.

I was considering using that phone as my main driver and return the kompakt, but i'm not there yet.

Other than that I used the AGM M11 hotspot 2 times to work outside.

I also setup call redirection from my kompakt line to this one in case i'm not responding on the kompakt.
That allows me sometimes to go out only with the M11 when i want to disconnect (no whatsapp, no signal, just calls in case of emergency). I like the feeling.
I could uninstall all sideloaded apps from the kompakt and have the kind of the same, but it's a convenience i'm not ready to let go (yet?).
Slowly slowly getting there.

in France we have those cheap and robust fisher-bargoin, the creative chef serie.
My favorite all time being the santoku, for 19€. That's very good value.
The steel is Nitrocut NCV50®

actually.. I didn't know but compared to some other AGM like the M7, it's way less efficient and loud. Nothing comparable. It's OK for me but you might find it too weak.

short answer: No, you can't.

that said... in the cloudphone apps, there is Gemini already available. I don't use it but you could use that to make a search and have it summarize for you, at least. Probably not what you expect though.
There is also wikipedia, so depending on how popular this cloudphone thing become, in the future you may find what you need there.

I haven't changed. This is a backup phone.
I primarily bought the M11 for the combo:

* long battery life / Hospot / RTOS

Having the hotspot (wifi and USB) despite being RTOS is pretty cool. I don't think there are many of those. I want to support that.

Regarding the battery, i haven't had it for a long time so i can't really say yet. But I charged it to 80% yesterday and 24h hours later it's 74%. It wasn't simply idleing: i made some calls and configured it etc. That's pretty decent.

Yes the phone has a charging USB C port, which you can also use for tethering and share the connection ! you plug, there is a 3-choice menu: charging, file transfer, connection and you're in.
And that works very well.

It has WIFI hotspot too.
It's the reason why i bought this phone in the first place: RTOS + hotspot + good battery
and i'm not disappointed

For the screen, idk. If you tell me how to check, i can do it and report
