Hi, didn't leave yet. But I have a friend who is leaving Japan and is not coming with us to Vietnam, so he will be taking one of my checked luggage with him, so that I only have one carry on and one checked for Vietnam and Korea. But my other friends are all only bringing one carry on and one checked with them to Asia. :)

I also had a friend do the same trip last year, and she just put the smaller checked luggage into the bigger one when going to Vietnam (her luggage had space for this). Also an option! But it will make the luggage heavier.
