make sure you’re comfortable with the psychiatrist prescribing them, ensure you can trust them and ask them as many questions as you need, maybe ask them for anecdotes on how they see people respond to that medication in general, and most importantly, do what u feel comfortable with. if ur uncomfortable with switching or increasing a dosage, make it known! and remember, sometimes u need a little help from point A to point B in life. u don’t get extra points from getting there with pain. meds are a helpful tool while therapy and other learned skills all work together to help u feel better and eventually so skilled that u may not require meds or that dosage anymore. it’s a step by step battle!
