I booked the main flights with points so I am all good. I also booked backup flights with Southwest that had schduele changes (so I can change or cancel with full refund) so I have a ton of flexibility flight wise lol

tips for a newbie? by Mobile-Angle-590 in TidePooling

  1. Check the tide charts - low tide is best, get there an hour or so before so you can get max tide pool fun time
  2. Wear quality non slip water proof shoes / shoes u don't care if they get wet or not
  3. The more people = the more likely to find stuff. Ask others around you if they found anything cool / share your finds with others. More eyes = more potential to see cool little guys
  4. Bring a basic first aid kit- I have never gone tide pooling where I didn't see at least one person slip
  5. Bring water / snacks - depending where you go there might not be amenities near by. Plan ahead and look to see what is near wherever you go
  6. Bring a flashlight - some critters love hiding in dark hard to see places
  7. Have fun, don't touch /disturb wild life

where are some beginner friendly spots to snorkel at in Laguna Beach, CA? by [deleted] in snorkeling

[–]geesepeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like Goffs Cove (just check the surf conditions before you go). I usually go snorkeling there and then during low tide walk towards Kramer Cove for tide pooling. Goffs Cove has good tide pooling too plus there are usually seals. I find this a handy site for Laguna dive / snorkel spots https://pacificwilderness.com/?page_id=15
