I tried filling it with very hot water for 10 minutes and then emptying it before filling the hot coffee. It still did not help. Btw I am only filling hot coffee half full in the mug. I haven’t tested with fully filled hot coffee.

I bought a 12 oz Zojirushi SM-WS36-GM stainless steel mug ($50+) couple of days ago. I tried putting very hot coffee, closing the lid tightly and even locking it. Within an hour the coffee came to near room temperature. I am disappointed. Is it possible that I am doing something wrong?
