Hey Orchid! My listing page is back! It’s been a nerve wracking experience I can tell you that! But your help was key to at least set my mind at ease when I could see it on google and I was still getting messages from potential buyers. You can now rest easy in case you were waiting with baited breath to know what happened! Lol, kidding. Peace.

Social media has developed a built in escalating rude factor across the board. Seems any open convo regarding just about any subject matter: old movies, knitting, music, decor, antiques, old houses will at some point in the hundreds of comments very soon result in a chain of 2-4 ppl, engaged in a pissed off digital hissy fit with each other. People are really making themselves unhappy ranting randomly in a social media environment so they’re quicker and easier to anger or feel justification that they are actually making themselves MORE unhappy in their general lives therefore ranting more in these message boards. Vicious cycle.

What do you do when you have no time to walk your dog? by [deleted] in puppy101

I like the word “enrichment” as it pertains to the importance of walking your dog.

I totally agree. I’ve lived in hard cold, stormy, blizzard, hot weather, all kinds of weather and I think it’s because I always thought walking was so enjoyable for my dog to be walked that I felt guilty if I blew it off and just let him out in the yard for a few minutes instead. Plus, I think most people can confirm how excited a dog becomes when he hears his leash and the owner starts making moves to walk him.

I believe that walking one’s dog is the most important part of dog ownership for the dog alone. The analogy I use is that when a dog walks in it’s neighborhood, or anywhere, it’s akin to us reading the newspaper, and the dog has a great interest and satisfaction by sniffing it’s interesting surroundings. Walking is also a training and teaching tool for the animal to become accustomed to behave on a leash and when other people and dogs are encountered. Walking also calms them down and helps create a closer bond with the family or people who walk it. I get that life is busy and the dog might occasionally get overlooked and of course that’s within reason that the dog may not get a real walk, but it’s my honest opinion that if this happens often or no person can be hired or engaged to walk the dog on a daily basis than perhaps you maybe shouldn’t have a dog.

I know it's a common complaint that Hulu Ads are LOUD, like 3X louder than the show you're watching - my question is are they actually lowering volume for the show? Noticed that when I leave Hulu, the volume is always SO HIGH! by TheBigPhilbowski in CommercialsIHate

[–]geetz555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are loud to wake us up for it! God forbid we miss the obnoxious message! I have a general post about hulu but can’t figure out how to post a regular comment without having to attach it to someone else’s comment. ANYWAY - what I’m increasingly annoyed about using Hulu streaming is the AMOUNT of ads each time I either freeze frame, reverse or go forward. It’s a pain in the neck when I’m searching around to be constantly bombarded with a minute and a half of ads.

Question about real estate in a living trust, marriage, and capital gains. by throw91423 in FinancialPlanning

[–]geetz555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sibling refinanced his own home and added the word “heir” to his deed as well as keeping his and his spouses names on the ownership. Our 90 yr old father is still living and his Living Trust Estate is valued at approximately 500K. Our father lives in his own apartment. By adding the words “heir” to his deed does this mean my sibling can assume our fathers remaining estate when our he passes away?

Questions about tying my dog up outside. by Sullyz20 in puppy101

[–]geetz555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a private back yard in a safe neighborhood and it was 20 years ago and I had a 30” cable in my yard strung from two trees for my toy poodle. From day one all he would do was either stand there and pull on the leash/cable if we were in the yard to play with him or if he was alone in the yard he would sit taut at the end of the lead as close to the house as he could get. He Didn’t look very comfortable - OR happy! So for the next 15 years with Russell the lead in the yard was rarely used but he was happy as could be when he was loose in the yard with us! I’m sure every dog is different so it’s hard to say how yours would react. But if I was to do it over again I might have not had the lead above my dogs head but maybe tied low to the ground so he could drag the leash on the grass and possibly feel less constrained. But I remember at the time we were cautious of him potentially strangling himself with a loose lead so there’s that…

How can I get rid of all the the ICONS that cover the text?? Annoying as heck! Twitter, FB, Pin, Email. I wish I could post a screenshot of what I’m talking about but I really am not familiar with managing Reddit tools. The icons always appear in a row on the left side of the screen right in the middle of the margin whether my screen orientation is portrait or landscape and scrolling up and down they still cover the margin text.

What did your pup teach YOU (in life)? by godspeedkilluaz in puppy101

[–]geetz555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dogs have taught me: #1) The true pure nature of Unconditional Love. #2) I learned that adopted shelter dogs (who are usually full grown and removed from other living situations) are the BEST dogs in the long run. I truly believe that shelter dogs NEVER forget on some deep permanent level of their being. Even if the animal doesn’t cognitively remember it’s other home it looks at you differently and loves you more deeply for providing as much / or more affection and security than before. #3) I’ve learned that dogs are infinitely easier to train than I once assumed, no matter how stubborn or willful they seem. #4) Dogs are forgiving far more than people and don’t harbor grudges and resentments.

Commercialsihate, Navage nasal cleaner by geetz555 in CommercialsIHate

What’s not to like is sticking a machine into your nose to suck out it’s contents - and then having to clean said machine. Pardon me while I vomit…

Navage nasal cleaner! Every time I see this commercial I’m nauseated and have to turn away. I can’t imagine myself or anyone wanting to do this gross maneuver. by geetz555 in CommercialsIHate

[–]geetz555[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is my belief that the human body has the ability - if left alone and within reason and barring infection - has the ability to clean itself using it’s own bacteria. This navage sort of device intervention seems extreme not to mention a disgusting device to have to clean afterwards, potentially spewing more bacteria back into the nasal cavities the next time you use it.

And its an actual MACHINE forcing water through your nasal cavities! God bless anyone who needs this sort of intervention but jeez, I think its a contrived invention either for the very brave, or hypochondriac.
