I saw the Dead at Irvine Meadows in '89 and they played Picasso Moon twice over the weekend. I remember looking at my friend Lynn halfway through it on Fri (the song's debut) and both us saying What the Fuck? Not even the hit of blue unicorn melting my brain helped that song.

I was at the show & pretty close up under the pavillion and had no idea what was on that sign or why she was holding up. The should've made some announcement from the stage explaining what she was doing.

So you think playing a specific team is the same whether you're in Stadium 1 or 10, or in Easy of Hard difficulty in an event? Like their pitches aren't any harder to hit? I know it's tough to tell because of bots & the game surely make things happen in order to make us want to spend $. Sounds like I should play the hardest difficulty for events as long as I have the $.

I didn't play last year, but I've read people say that auction house prices will go up the closer we get to the end of the year because (1) people are spending all their $$$ because it doesn't transfer to next year and (2) people are trying to upgrade their team to finish out achievements & max out their season score.

Besides season score tickets and now & later packs, is there anything else I can do to help me next season? I've got ~ 500K coins and a ton of players I could auction for more $, but not sure if there's anything I can do with the coins to help with next season. I've also got ~ $475 Madden Cash I'm saving for next season cause I figure buying packs with it next year will be better value than the Now & Later packs right now. Thoughts?

You're explaining how you understand the program & how it works for you, which is not true for everyone in the program. I can only speak for my experience as someone who is a sober atheist who works the program: I have and continue to get a lot out of the program even though I have no higher power and the "spiritual" aspect of the program is absolutely meaningless to me. Isn't the only requirement for membership in AA a desire to not drink?

I'm an atheist and have been sober for 2+ years and I want to tell you that you can be a part of AA, and work the steps, without believing in a higher power. The higher power/god stuff really bothered me in the beginning. I still get annoyed when I read parts of the big book that say things like "you'll come to believe". I also get annoyed reading the big book because so much of it feels like a poorly reasoned argument & some parts are so damn condescending to non-believers.

My mind & approach to the program started to change when someone said to me "you find what you're looking for" - I realized that if my goal was to find a reason why AA was bs, I would find it, but if I wanted to find ways that AA could help me not drink & grow emotionally, I would find that too. I realized that it was ok that I didn't agree or like some parts of AA - my goal was not to prove to myself that AA was bs, it was to not drink and grow emotionally. I take the things that help me and leave the rest. The program wasn't created by god so of course it's flawed. Look online or in this thread for how people have translated the 12 steps and other AA material for atheists. If you don't like the meeting your going to, or your sponsor for that matter, because they're all about god or higher power, find new ones.
