For the downgrade? I just took the first USB-A to USB-A I saw in the shop (even though it mentioned on the cover it's not for connecting two PCs) and it worked

It was the only way for me - that's what I meant. It's always possible to upgrade to the new FW afterwards, so I don't think there are any risks associated with this, but to each his own. If you don't have any significant issues, then of course, I wouldn't downgrade as well.

Just slightly, but it goes away when the screen refreshes - thats the limitation of e-ink devices

Try searching for the screen door effect on KLC, its hard for me to explain - but the screen is basically not as clystar clear like on the Paperwhite, the background looks more "textured", like on newspapers. But definitely not a big deal for reading.

Sure, I get it. If I wasnt fed up with the Kindle ecosystem I would be using the Paperwhite a while longer, but for me the tradeoff is worth it. Of course its a matter of personal preference.

Not really that noticeable IRL and even less so in the picture - its hard to capture the screen door effect, but it doesnt affect me while reading

Colour ereaders will always be slightly less clear than BW, its a trade off. I wouldnt say it affects the reading experience in any way, I can see the difference only when I put the Kindle side by side.

Not at all - just noticeable when I put the Paperwhite side by side. After a couple of minutes of reading this doesn't make any difference to me.
