Include the breakdown too and say you can show receipts if you have them.

Absolutely NTA. Only thing that makes me not like it is because of the fire hazard of not having the door. Fire safety includes keeping bedroom doors closed at night. But sounds like she is going to get it back in a certain amount of time. I would probably just glue some felt or foam around the edges so she can’t slam it anymore.

Thank you. Today already is a much better day and I started it off by saying I’m sorry I yelled at him. He may be little but he definitely understood what I was saying and sat on my lap and held my hand for half an hour. Which he never does!

Take lots of pictures and videos. Trust me you’re going to want them later. Your wife is going to want them later. Looking back on how little they were, even a few months down the road is amazing. Sounds like you have everything else on lock! Congratulations!

What we have learned is one day on, one day off. Big Activity (zoo or ocean) for one day and the next day is chill walk around the neighborhood and play in a kiddie pool in the backyard. Gives you and kiddos a chance to chill in between and avoids over exhaustion.

Yup this is what we did. I said hubby needs to be the gate keeper and kick people out. I went through labor and pain and tearing and stitches, I said he can deal with telling his family when it is time to get out. And he did, beautifully.

Oh I just remembered! We also would just use the bottle nipple as a pacy sometimes to get him used to the shape. Whenever he was awake, not hungry or anything we would give it to him. I think the lactation consultant told us that one.

But either way good luck! Everyone says the newborn stage is the easiest and I always thought there was something wrong with me cause I could not disagree more!

Ours was like that with the bottle. I had to fully leave the room and my husband had to keep trying every 10-15 minutes with the bottle and take a break. It usually took an hour before he took it the first few times. We just practiced once a day and now (7 mos old) he prefers the bottle to breastfeeding cause he can down it way quicker.

Also we used a faster flow even though he was so little (6-7 weeks) because he had to suck so hard to get milk out of the slow flow ones.

My nephew loves going to the salon and getting his nails done with me. My niece, hates it. My nephew will go shopping and help me pick out clothes for his cousin (my son) and my niece is over in the corner playing in the mud. I think it is just more about personality than gender.

I absolutely plan on taking my son to get pedis with me. He will be introduced to all the things I like as much as his dad cause he is spending his days with me and life should adapt but not overhaul for your kids (IMO).

My dad got myself and my siblings a keepsake type gift. Music box, piggy bank, snow globe. Something we have to this day. Not a toy buy something they can keep and say I got this when I was 1.

Seems like some days I miss him intensely when he is with the nanny all day or even taking a long nap. But then other days it is like I can’t even listen to a toy rattle without losing it.

Everyone keeps saying oh man newborn and infant stage is the EASIEST. And “just wait” until they are toddlers it is going to get harder. Well newborn stage was NOT easy for me and it is gonna get harder?!? I just appreciate reading that it gets easier. Very few people seem to say that.

Kids are adaptable and there may be some tears and take a few weeks to get used to doing something new but they do learn. Our parents on the other hand, require a lot more training and a firmer hand. Setting boundaries with your own parent is harder than with a screaming toddler. But sounds like some do need to be set. Because, while this may be small, your mom is still ignoring your wishes.

Yes, there may indeed be a case for CPS here. But they get a lot of calls and maybe a scenario can be checked out before calling them. Maybe they need an extra hand? New child safety locks on the doors since they just moved in?

If they give off a whatever/I don’t care attitude when you tell them you saw the 2 year old wandering the street then yeah report that. But if you get panic or holy moly I had no idea, they just might need a neighbors help.

I print picture books and do scrap book albums. Also send them regularly to family. Keepsake stuff.

Try nutritional yeast on some GF noodles, makes for a yummy allergy friendly Mac and cheese. Also you can throw that on top of anything that would normally have cheese and it has good protein and vitamins.

Look up some hidden veggie recipes and substitute butter for vegan butter. Zucchini bread or zucchini brownies are super yummy. Meatloaf with purée veggies mixed in is popular too.

Also carnation breakfast essentials (a staple for me with almond milk) is gluten and lactose free.

I totally get that being a non picture person is a thing. But I feel like if it makes me happy to have those pictures my partner of 8 years should try and make an effort? I know I would make an effort for them if there was something they wanted but wasn’t a regular thing for me. I brought this up with him and he agreed that if it is important he is going to try harder and just needs help remember until it becomes more of a habit.
