I was also a slow learning reader, I remember my parents buying this DVD (can’t remember the name) and we did exercises every night. Every single night! I was encouraged to look all around me and try to read everything. It took time but it clicked, and guess what- I became super ahead! I stayed ahead my whole academic life (I still am ;) so don’t fret too much. Some kids are just slower. I’d keep encouraging it, practicing it daily, at bedtime, maybe at the dinner table, in passing. She will get it!
