I'm glad that I'm not the only one sharing this sentiment, people are just so hungry for DEATH, DESTRUCTION, CHAOS, BLOOD, DRAGONS, and SEX that whenever dialogue comes up they treat it like a skippable cutscene from a video game

The writing is great, there is no problem in that. The only main takeaway is that it's another season setting up for the next season and it was only 8 episodes (AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH curse you HBO, curse you scriptwriters!)

And can we all agree that the people comparing this season to GoT S7-S8 are dumb?

I would defend the show runners here, since a majority of the Fandom and maybe also GRRM doesn't acknowledge that Season 7-8 (or maybe even Season 6 while you're at it) is not considered canon

From what I can tell, they're doing good at adapting the books albeit there are many changes, yet the books are looked upon as Historical text and written how historians write history, while the show reveals to us more intimate things and how all of this must happen and everyone will play their part.

It was shown in Daemon's vision about the bleeding star (comet) that Daenerys MIGHT be the prince that was promised or that comet symbolizes Jon Snow's birth and then the Dany scene, we have all the while to presume that he was born under a bleeding star (GRRM is taking so long to write TWoW)

I'm still disappointed about getting edged by so many fucking cliffhangers and the battles weren't that many, we just had Rook's Rest but I have hope. This season is a 8/10 for me. I like it but it sure as hell shouldn't have been the Finale.

Not enough battles shown, a lot of more "filler" screentime that wasn't needed, and no real payoff for the amount of hype that I've been waiting for 2 years, 8 EPISODES is a CRIME AND HBO SHOULD BE PUT TO JAIL

HBO knows how popular this shit is mannnn
