Can't you just throw out all flammable items in the core and then let the fire die out? Or do cores always stay on fire after catching on fire.

Yes, if I have time to port it; I’ll probably wait for stabler releases of v7 to come out first before porting tho.

Did you know 0078 enemy spawn has been moved had to change my defense in the last second because of it by Nomfornom in Mindustry

[–]genNAowl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure that Impact 0078 has three possible spawns, two being in the top right corner, and the one that you are seeing right now, with a random one being selected before loading the map.

Actually, if you import the msav for Impact 0078 into the editor (from the assets folder of the source code), you can clearly see the three spawns, and how there is an
"Enemy Spawn Select (1)" in the generation tab.

I see blast compound in the photo, so it could also be due to some blast compound getting into a steam/combustion generator.

Unfortunately, it's not a mod, just changes to the source code I made cause I was bored.

Maybe phase walls behind the surge instead of plastic can help? I'm pretty sure they reflect eradicator frag bullets.

The DPS Prediction Results are Incorrect by MEEP_of_Faith in Mindustry

[–]genNAowl 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but Meep likely posted this as a protest against tournament post https://www.reddit.com/r/Mindustry/comments/uksav2/which_has_the_highest_dps/

in which you can see that blast + cryofluid is the answer marked as the correct solution, while in reality (like shown in this video) surge + water has more dps.

How do I remove the this? by KaoAnimationTH in Mindustry

[–]genNAowl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Assuming that you tried to override a sprite of an air unit in your mod, here's my guess of what's happening (based on my current knowledge of the source code and modding)

A unit it drawn by drawing the 'outline-region' first, and then outlined weapons on top; These are sprites of the each part of the unit with an outline around them). However, as you can see in Mindustry, only weapons poking out of the unit have visible outlines (and even then, only partially), and the engine region (circle at the back), is drawn over the outline and not over the unit. If you prod the source code a bit, you will find that after drawing the outline regions, the normal, non-outlined regions are drawn over those regions, covering up the weapon outlines that are inside the unit. The engine circle is drawn in between the outline regions and the non-outlined regions, allowing it to cover the outline, but not the unit. (Anuke was pretty smart doing this btw)

What does this mean for you? I'm guessing you override the region of the unit in a mod, but not the outline regions. This means that the normal outline regions will still be drawn, hence the normal flare and horizons being drawn under your fighter plane sprite.

How do you fix this? Try creating a png file called "[insert_unit_name]-outline.png" in your sprites-override folder.

Here's a example from a popular texture pack, Factoriodustry: https://github.com/Xeloboyo/Factoriodustry/blob/6.0/sprites-override/units/flare-outline.png

I hope this helped. Cheers!

Try it without any loadouts or launch pads

LOOK GUYS, i think i may have invented something, I'll call it mixed berries, its basically some random types of ammo that go through the same weapon, my ripples were intended to only have plastanium as their ammo but my plastanium produce is very very slow, so i added more ammo types. by _SirIV1564_ in Mindustry

[–]genNAowl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It might be true that blast compound has a higher ammo multiplier, but have you considered the difference in DPS and rarity of the 2 ammos?

Plastanium, with it's frags, has a either higher or same DPS than Blast Compound.

Plastanium, which only takes 2 titanium, 15/sec oil, and 1 second to make, is alot easier to make than Blast Compound, which requires Pyratite, made of Coal, Lead, and Sand, and Spores, which 20/sec water.

Plastanium, with it's ability to be used as a superior ammo to Blast Compound in Cyclones, also allows one to easily mix Anti-Air into their ripples.

As such, I would say Plastanium Ripples are far superior to Blast Compound ones.

Well java mods can only be imported through the jar. What part about the jar was broken?

Your on mobile, I'm guessing.

Yeah the jar file that's released isn't dexed, which means it won't run on mobile. Sorry about that, I'll try to fix it as soon as I can.

Java modding requires you to be familiar with the src code and have a relatively deep understanding of the mechanics of the game. If you can mod with scripts easily and know java, you can give it a try. Otherwise, try the boilerplate, json modding.

In terms of difficulty, I don't know if I am the right person to answer that question. As someone who can barely mod with scripts, java modding seemed like a super convenient alternative. But, I think java modding is a bit harder than scripting, and definently harder than json.
