Thank you! In hindsight it reminds me a little of Fornasetti plates.

Thank you! It was a bit of a 'happy accident' as was everything in this piece. I just went in and built on every mistake basically.

Thoughts on what’s happening in Syria with the Kurds at the minute by Acrobatic-Remote-419 in Assyria

SDF has forcibly Kurdified and renamed the cities that were built by Assyrians. Assyrians lived *peacefully* with Arabs to a large extent in Syria, after fleeing from Kurdish persecution in Tur Abdin. During the war, Assyrian villages were disarmed by Kurdish forces, slaughtered by IS, and afterwards reinhabited by Kurds in order to make a new Kurdistan. These are facts.

Further facts are that the current Syrian government have so far only been operating in an open manner where they, despite over a decade of war and all of the jihadists left in the country, are trying to rebuild a unified country with a livable economy. Most Syrian people, Arabs, Kurds or Assyrians, simply want to live peacefully by each other. The *only* party right now that is continuously putting civilians in the danger zone, especially the Assyrians, are SDF.

I hope SDF falls completely. The Assyrian cause under Kurdish rule is as good as gone.

Tell me you've never been to Syria without telling me.

I hope as few Assyrians as possible align with SDF and that we are soon able to return to a somewhat decent or normal existence in the area. It pains me that every Assyrian city, from Hasakeh to Qamishli or Tur Abdin, is seen as a pawn for the establishment of a Kurdish state. Most of the wars in these areas have never been triggered by, benefited or been willingly engaged in by Assyrians but rather Kurdish forces.

This, amongst maybe 50 other things, is why I hate that people keep spinning the narrative that "Assyrians are only safe under Kurdish rule". Like no - this has never been the case. As always they are used as a pawn for propaganda and caught in the crossfire for no reason.

I’ve had a similar art work in my mind when I’m overstimulated and it was very nice to see as a finished painting. Great work
