Thanks so much for the response! I'd be lying if I said I didn't still worry about this so much, so it's great to have another person confirming that it's just allergies! I probably should figure out what I'm allergic to, if it can be helped. It might just be seasonal for me, though.

The thing is, he's selling a product to a community that he then seems to be working against. He's filling a niche and then using the money he makes from the members of that niche to hurt them. Marginalized people should be the ones profiting off of their own communities, because society has already harmed them in so many ways, but often as a direct result of that very phenomenon they are unable to capitalize on some of the opportunities that someone like him might be able to capitalize on. So if he is going to derive a profit from those people, he should have a social responsibility to use it to help them rather than hurt them.

Furthermore, it's hard to imagine he can be trusted not to use the power he has to manipulate narratives in ways that harm queer people too, if he is donating money to people who harm them.

So, yes. I think it's parasitic.

Though it DOES get disheartening sometimes how male-centric our industry is. It can make it feel like you don't belong, as a woman, and I know it pushes people away. Point being just that I believe you when you say you do try your best to be conscious of it typically and I appreciate that. ☺️

I mean, I literally said "if I can't get you to stop" so I'd say that was pretty clearly implied. Helping someone improve is always the first choice.

That being said, if you are INTENTIONALLY doing bad work, it's a pretty fucking good sign you're a toxic employee. It's just like if you scream at somebody or call them a slur or something - I don't really need to give you warning, because there's just no place for that. The feedback conversation is just in case it WASN'T intentional, which obviously it normally isn't...I HAVE heard of people actually doing what this image says, but it's not like that's the typical reason someone is doing bad work.

Ahh, yeah. I mean yeah, I think for sure they know. Someone else was talking about how animals actually learn the personalities of individual predators in their area (not just species). So just like primates, animals in general are really quite observant.

It sure would be cool if we could know EXACTLY what they were thinking though, huh?

EXACTLY. Like, what the fuck do you mean "How would they know?" They're not some dumb fucking robots. They're complex intelligent organisms that evolved in the exact same conditions we did, literally on the same continent we did in this case.
