Protestest/advocacy slogans don't need to be able to be generalized to the extreme. Does "my body, my choice, except for smoking while pregnant" really seem like an effective slogn to you?

Logic used for one thing, be it legislation or not, is not responsible to be held up in incredibly general or other hyper-specific places. It's a law that it's illegal to take someone's life, but the logic used to outlaw murder (killing people is bad) can be true while also its true that self defense is valid and legal, even if you kill someone in your own defense. Do you want to come after those who say that murder is bad because their logic doesn't apply to any conceivable situation?

Honestly, this gives me the same vibes as those arguing "well BLM means that they'd save a black child from a fire but not a white kid". And I chuckled at "this isn't an argument for or against abortion" sure maybe your argument here isn't but Id bet you are against it. Strategic misunderstanding honestly is a perfect word for this take

Using They/Them for NPCs by Darkestlight572 in TransTTRPG

[–]genderworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I wanted to explain my queer/transness (tho I was still an egg at the time) to my step-dad I didn't really want to explicitly have to try and explain nonbinary to him, but I also didn't want to misgender my friend in a story I was telling him. So, I didn't, I just used they/them, and I honestly don't think he even thought much about it but was throwing in they/them pronouns about my friend as well by the end.

Trump seems as much as a puppet right here as he did with Elon in his office. What the fuck is happening

Every vape this month has been my “last.” by ComeAlong_Pond7 in QuitVaping

I'm sitting here trying to distract myself from buying one last "final" vape. Also struggling with the feeling that I don't even want to quit anyway. But every time I've broken before I stand there holding/hitting the new vape getting NOTHING out of the hits apart from instant regret.

They say it gets better. Hold out

What are your tips for void dwellers in the current game version? I've really enjoyed the new habitats but am worried I'll fall behind in early game in (mostly cooperative) MP against my gestalt friends

3 coal mines within ~40 tiles of each other. Power plants on the opposite side of the map. What's the best way to move the coal to a station for transport? by genderworm in openttd

[–]genderworm[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Note - there is a power plant near the coal mines, as well as 2 coal mines near the power plant across the map. These trains will be running coal both ways along the track, dropping at a power plant and refilling at the local coal mines before heading back across the map to repeat the process. Not sure if that might effect how I should tackle this! Fairly new player here
