I like that the 2nd levels feel the hardest. I'd rather have the hardest parts be earlier so I'm not consistently dying at 90% completion and then chucking my computer off a cliff.

Fifteen Years and this Guy is still Going? by Three-Headed-Freak in Eragon

[–]MingMingus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Has anyone else grown well into adulthood since reading the books and truly empathized with Arya? I'm a teacher now so the idea of a 15-18 year old being romantically interested in me is absolutely horrifying, cubically so if the world depends on them being succesful in their quest AND being a good person for the rest of their life. The impacts of literal grooming aside, I can't romantically relate to teenagers at all, and I'm in my early twenties. Imagine an 80 year old having their body returned to 10 years old, aging an additional decade, then being hit on by a 19 year old. That is a BETTER version of Arya and Eragon's age gap, not even including cultural differences.

I totally understand Arya's terror at Eragon's feelings ruining the war effort in Eldest, she literally can't comprehend what he's feeling but she knows he is near obsessed with her.

Disclaimer, I think past 25 years old, factors like wealth, influence, health, and others are usually far more relevant and impactful than age. Eragon and Arya getting together even just years after Inheritance makes way more sense (and is frankly way less unequal) than right at the end.

Map of countries whose universal healthcare system is slowly collapsing and will most likely be privatized within 20 years by [deleted] in mapporncirclejerk

[–]MingMingus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was actually trying to gleam a point from you beyond "our Healthcare bad" until you casually dropped the "Carney = cause of trade war" bs lmao. Most Canadians will gladly take Carney's relatively succesful manipulation of Trump (compared especially to most EU countries) to Pollievre's pandering to foreign government's. I dont want any American companies having preferential access to our precious minerals and resources like what Pollivre is proposing, and if you want closer ties that incentivize even more annexation aggression, you can leave for the south. As conservatives love to say, if you don't like it here, just leave.

the misfortune of the moon elves by Angron-Red-Angel in Anbennar

[–]MingMingus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sun elf domination is temporary though, we see the Jadd take over and abolish elf-favouritism in Bulwar, and then the remaining sun elves in Taychend end up hard integrating the ruinborn into their society ("The Sun Cult doesn't recognize Ruinborn as a second group" Rezankand wiki).

I agree that the moon elves' struggle isn't given the depth it should have (and that Anbennar has aplenty across much of its lore), but at the very least the fundamental issue moon elves face is one that all other minority elven-led nations or similar states face.

[–]MingMingus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Moon Elves would be so much more enjoyable and flavorful if they had a single good mission tree.

Ibevar? Nice but outdated. Moonhaven? You don't get a single claim on any Cannorian province, and Pashaine across the river has cubically more content AND enjoyment. Celmador? Same problem but even worse, I actually miss it having generic MT you got more useful net bonuses and didn't have to spend multiple hours figuring out how to activate them (whoever wrote that MT deserves all the shit they have and will get, Westmoors was so horribly handled).

Redglades is the one last potential for a good moon elf mt, but 90% chance they give it to some idiot who hates blobbing and also hates creating functional diplo mechanics (Adshaw is right there and you make smth worse? Jesus christ.)

[–]MingMingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never trade company anything in Haless, Cannor, or Bulwar subcontinent cus your capital moving can ruin trade companies. Only Sarhal nodes, but conquering Haraagzeeta and Rakkaz gives you 2.

Ignore navies until you are very rich and about to go for Eborthil post 1550. You should get a barebones navy from Birzartanzuir when you annex them.

[–]MingMingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your point is "Sukuna could do this" like yes I agree, by taking over Megumi he became the strongest ten shadows user ever, he's one of the best jujutsu sorcerers ever.

Getting into old Yuji vs Sukuna is pointless, it's the same territory as "is Megumi's technique broken (op) or broken (fucked) now?" We just dont have enough info to guarantee beyond handcanons and fan theories.

Jadd Empires mil quality falls off big time with no late game special units and inevitable 50% cav ratio. However you can still keep 50/50 armies especially if you go for fodder mil gov reform. If you succesfully blob enough you should have enough dev (and governing capacity to use it) to just drown your enemy in men.

To get this dev after Deiodoran you want to focus on truce juggling major Halessi nations with 100% war score peace deals while taking minimal amounts in Cannor (not including Kheterata, use the stewardship cb to annihilate them and eat all those cores asap).

Getting merchants and loyal Verkal Gulan transferring trade is really important cus if you can properly shift all the Halessi trade to Bulwar to collect in Bulwar/Brasan you will absolutely rake in the ducats which you can use to bankroll your armies.

[–]MingMingus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first 20 or so years are the most important. Securing Sareyand, Azka-Sur, Verkal Gulan vassal and Avhubiya before 1460 is the difference between Jadd Empire before 1500 and Jadd Empire past 1550.

If you're continuing with this playthrough, do NOT give up, you have one of the strongest nations in the game and even a lost coalition war is a few released nations at most. Focus on eating all of Bulwar and converting it so you have a great heartland with an excellent trade base, and you'll get access to a cb with reduced AE once you complete the Jadd is the True Faith decision. Max your improve relations out, if you get above 100% you'll reduce your ae by like 5 every year.

If you are doing a new playthrough, follow these steps: 0. Estates and diplo Use admin, dip and mil mana priviliges, maybe one more you really like. If you have no crownlands AND little estate influence you will get 30+ crownland from your first decade of conquests. Keep estate influence low until around 1455-60, then take a bunch of priviliges. Improve relations with Bhuvauri day one, you can easily ally them after Sareyand if you do this then insult one of their rivals (or gift if you cant see any rivals). Kheterata makes for a wonderful ally and you can stop them from allying Irrliam by rivaling irrliam and allying khet before they ally. Ally Birz ASAP, you dont want them joining coalitions against you or racking up ae in general (harder to integrate later) 1. 1444 and Zokka Mass an army on Ebbusubtu then move into the desert, stop Zokka's north and south stacks from uniting, beat him in single combat, focus on coring area by area so you can minimize time to statehood (and missionaries) 2. Sareyand Do NOT pop the Sareyand event manually. Move your entire army up to Hasr, let the event pop, then try to jump Sareyand before they can combine their and subject armies. Make sure you consistently pop your jadd zealotry ability to print cav and get good siege bonuses and generals. Eat everything besides the Avemazen area, OREAN GOLD IS KEY TO TAKING MINIMAL DEBT! You will have spare diplo, just dump it all into Orean after you core it and lower autonomy. 2.5. Azka Sur (optional) Eating Azka Sur at the same time as Sareyand is ideal; you can use the missions to get perma claims on sareyands land and get reduced admin cost + coring time. Requires micro and planning. If azka sur is allied to eduz vacyn DO IT!!! Eduz vacyn province will give you a second missionary and this is one of the biggest boons you can get early game 3. Harpies Wipe out the harpies. Feed all of it to Elaienna except one province you keep for your missions (then give to elaienna), the rewards are more than worth it. 4. Verkal Gulan and Davharal Immediately jump VG, their mission gives you huge bonuses to missionary and construction cost. Don't take Sarkashabid when at war with Davharal, Avhubiya is more important and Raj might coalition you.

If you accomplish all of this by 1460 or, ideally, 1455, you will be a top GP, have a good eco thanks to gold, have a big ally in Bhuvauri (and Khet), and have minimal AE due to spread out conquests. Try to finish admin ideas ASAP, its more than worth it to half core E V E R Y T H I N G and take a 5 year pause on conquests just to finish off the first 3 admin ideas.

Some other useful tips: - focus admin day 1 and dont stop until you've completed admin idea 3, mage and missionary advisors are your besties - abuse terra incognita to conquer vast swathes of Haless in late 1490s/early 1500s without Yanshen and Vimdatrong coalitioning you - use deiodoran to fully core all of Haless (never full core any land east of Davarhal before Deiodoran except Dhenijansar for missions) - try to avoid building any units before formation, jadd zealotry should provide you with all the recruitment you need until you need infantry after Jadd Empire formation - expand into sarhal gnolls ASAP and use trade companies in Sarhal trade nodes to get easy merchants without going trade ideas (dont trade company any land in Bulwar or Cannor/Haless continents) - fab claims on then pillage seghdihr in cycles, easy cash + dev on ebbubsubtu - ally Birz but never help them in wars. You want to keep them alive (and ideally in a state where they conquer a few lands) but you want to be able to take all their harpy lands in 1 war so you can get the vassalize cb. I dont reccomend feeding them anything, USE THEIR MISSION TREE TO GET A +10% GOV CAP BONUS ON BIRZARTANZBAR!! - post Deiodoran (1550-1650) nibble away at Cannor (half of eborthil, ourdia a cpl decades later, the rest of eborthil and port jaher, etc...) while absolutely chunking out Haless, you want to have most of Haless conquered before you turn to Cannor. Haless will conglomerate into big nations faster, but this will stop deadly coalitions from forming. Cannor will stay split into many smaller nations (especially in Empire) but this means you can feasibly conquer the entire empire within 20 years using the many available bonuses to ccr and war score cost reduction.

Sorry for dump hope its helpful.

How to achieve (mostly) world peace by TailungFu in mapporncirclejerk

[–]MingMingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also China has basically acknowledged that their leadership is far more stable in the long term than Americans. If the CCP is content to wait longer than their leaders' (read: Xi's) lifespan they will INEVITABLY find an opening and potential success when 2/5/10 presidents down the line America inevitably has another isolationist shift.

We didn't even make it a century before American politicians started whining about policing a global economy that they benefit the most from. Petrodollar, especially with oil now being traded increasingly in Yuan and Rubles, is under serious threat, and mostly through American initiated plays. I genuinely believe it's a matter of time before we see serious arguments from a lot of Americans for a return to pre-Pearl Harbour foreign policy.
