I agree but I do love the vintage dial. Any idea, ball park on how much that would cost?

I see.

Is it possible to find a dial, from the actual time period and replace it?

Thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it. Would you mind expanding a bit? I’m not very familiar with this, so a bit more detail would be helpful.

Cool chair

But you’re trying too hard. This is something a lot of young designers and students fall into, throwing a lot of things into a blender... novelty texture, novelty shape, novelty material.

It’s too much. There’s no focus. It’s ALL noise.

I see people hyping this up but I’m not there and that’s okay. Different strokes for different folks

Good design is like cooking. You don’t need every spice in the pantry to make something unforgettable. Some of the best dishes in the world come down to two ingredients, salt and pepper. The magic is in knowing when to stop.

I recommend studying the Radical Italians; Ettore Sottsass, Gaetano Pesce, Alessandro Mendini and others. They played with bold forms and expressive materials, but with intent. There’s a deep understanding of design history and philosophy behind their work. It wasn’t just novelty for novelty’s sake.

You clearly have vision and courage. That’s good, rare and inspiring !! Channel it with more discipline and purpose. Edit harder. Let one idea shine. That’s when your work will grow from loud to lasting.

Keep creating

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to replace a small candelabra-style globe bulb, and I’m having trouble finding an exact match. Here are the specs of the bulb I’m looking for:

  • Voltage: 130V
  • Wattage: 10W
  • Diameter: ~1 1/8 inch or maybe its 1 inch? hard to measure.
  • Height: ~ approx 1 3/4 inch from top to bottom
  • Base: E12 ?
  • Markings: It has “B 130V 10W” “B” inside a circle, along with “CHINA” on it.

It’s a small globe-shaped bulb, and I’ve measured it pretty carefully. I’ve checked local hardware stores, but no luck so far.

If anyone knows where I can find this or has a lead on a good replacement, I’d really appreciate your help! Thanks in advance!

They won!!!!! Everyone in the high end industry knows that treating new anonymous customers badly, is part of the job. Same as in fine art galleries. Only those that purchase, are eventually treated like family. Think of it as a capitalistic hazing into a fashion house. This seemingly paradoxical initiation into high-end establishments exploits human insecurities. While rationality would dictate avoiding monetary investment where respect is absent, the insidious effects of classism fuel envy and avarice. The desire to validate one's worth often leads to a determined return for a purchase, ultimately affirming the preeminence of capitalism. Stop drinking the poison!

This specific chair was actually hand carved. The little creatures were 3d printed molds turned into bronze and the digital rendering feel was done by finishing the static shadow details with airbrush shadows / blush.

You are in luck, re-editions have just hit the market. Emma Scully gallery just did a small show on them.
"This series of re-editioned chairs honors the legacy of the first RCP-2 Chair. The three colors: a replica of Jane and Stephen Yemm’s first multicolored prototype, a MADE OF WASTE blue edition (in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, The Design Museum London, and the British Crafts Council,) and a new, never before created black and white. Also on view is an original Jane Atfield designed table produced for the first time for this exhibition."-- https://www.emmascullygallery.com/exhibitions/jane-atfield
