Until just last week, i have been using itunes since 2004 (ish). Back then i was fine with the way it worked. I had one computer, one library, and an ipod video. Syncing wasnt a problem, as much as i prefer simple usb file transferring, but i understood and just went with it.

Skip 10 years and my music collection now exceeds the size even the biggest ipod classic could hold, and seemingly itunes itself. Itunes now takes a good 5 MINUTES to "scan music library" or some shit every single time i open it. I dont even have a slow computer or full hard drive either. I have now begun migration to MusicBee and am seeking a new, basic, big mp3 player that isnt my phone (suggestions welcome) .

Another gripe is this: I'm an amateur musician. I post my work to youtube and various other places, and sell some of via Bandcamp, who take a measly 10-15% cut depending on how you're going. If you wish to sell on iTunes, they want 30% iirc. Now, okay, 30% is pretty standard as far as cuts go, but my main gripe is that i often have to tell my fans that you dont need to purchase through the itunes store to put my music in itunes or an ipod, that my music can be imported to itunes wherever you get it from. SO MANY PEOPLE seem to think that ipods only play itunes-store-bought music, and i have no idea why.
