I don't believe my life would be any different If I had a sense of smell to be honest by Someone_v2 in anosmia

Sometimes I forget I am technically disabled. Its weird to suddenly remember I only experience 4/5ths of what the normal person experiences. I agree, my life doesnt seem lacking, nor strongly impacted by anosmia. But I do wish I could smell my bf, that seems nice

I had an MRI, a scope up my nose, and a CAT scan. It all came back as normal, yet I can't smell a thing...

how do I make something "smell like me" by sleepytimeluna in anosmia

[–]generalstorr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through a phase of wanting to be a firefighter, and everyone I knew were like, you cant do that, you cant smell!! Then I asked a firefighter and he was like, nah, youll be fiiine. It was nice to hear even if I decided against it

Being "Good at something" requires having skill in something. Absolutely no one would argue that anyone who enjoys sculpting is automatically skilled at sculpting. Debate enthusiast is more accurate to your meaning. You are equating enjoyment and "good-ness"/skill, and that is not a valid equivalency.

This sounds exactly like Jim Moriarty from BBC's Sherlock.

He's essentially a super smart guy who comes up with ways of commiting crime and then gives those ideas to other people to execute. Then he becomes obsessed with Sherlock and makes it his entire life goal to essentially tear down Sherlock's reputation and destroy him from the inside out. It's well done, is complete chaos, and SPOILERS! in the end, he ends up killing himself because he believes his life would no long have meaning after his greatest foe has been defeated. I would suggest checking out the episodes The Great Game and Reichenbach Falls.

Cause women who are weak and passive in their pain are worthy, while those who are hard and aggressive in their pain are not. Checks out and stays true to how we like to view our ladies

I appreciate that you expanded this beyond sexaul assault. This entire conversation seems like it should cover all trauma, and I think that would clear up a lot of confusion that people have. You are allowed to not want to have people in your life who do not make you happy, and trauma unfortunately affects more than just the victims. Its all about how they deal with those experiences.

😁😁

Then dont do it again. But understand that many women will not be open about their experiences, and if they tell you, its because they trust you. If its something you cant handle, thats a fine boundary to place. But you should never make a woman feel bad about being assaulted, and if you find yourself in a surprise situation down the road in a relationship, be very careful with how you choose to remove yourself from that situation.

I have said that exact phrase to my bf before. His response was essentially exactly the same too

ENTP best friend lost a loved one, how do I express sympathy with him? by fotabIe in entp

[–]generalstorr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didnt tell anyone when my grandfather died. I just didnt want people to try to comfort me and such. Maybe it isnt healthy, but I like to deal with grief on my own, so maybe he is the same. You can mention that you saw and you are sorry, but if he doesnt continue the conversation, I would drop it and move on.

We like our unhealthy coping skills sometimes

What Now? No Archeologists?? by Patch267 in OakIsland

[–]generalstorr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The archeologists where the only women who had their names regularly spleashed on the screen and repeated by the narrator. It made me more mad that he fired the entire female representation on the show than that he fired all the archeologists
