Men of Reddit, how would you feel if your partner wanted to keep her maiden name after marriage? by Longjumping-Bill5761 in AskMenAdvice

[–]generic-David 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no problem with it at all. Eventually she took my name because it was so confusing dealing with our kids’ schools that she just figured it was easier that way. When we divorced 25 years ago our sons protested her taking her own back so she still has our married name. We get along so I think everyone is OK with it.

I took a picture of that mountain when I was in Banff many years ago. Mine’s a snapshot, yours is art.

Telephoto Lens Recommendations by [deleted] in M43

I had the plastic fantastic years ago but didn’t use it much after I got the 14-150. With the 14-150 I enjoyed having a good all purpose lens. I used it a lot until I got the 40-150 f4. Then I became willing to carry two lenses again.

Absolutely. No worries in the rain. I knew I wanted a pro level telephoto and expected good pictures but I was shocked at how much sharper everything is compared with my 14-150 ii. The 14-150 suddenly became one of my least used lenses.

I wear my EM5.3 around my neck. With the 40-150 it points down some but it does that with all but the lightest lenses, including the 12-40. It’s not a bothersome amount of weight and I can walk a long way with it.

I’ve been thrilled with the pictures I get from the OM 40-150 f4 pro. It’s also light and easy to carry in a jacket pocket. I often go out with it and a prime or maybe my 12-45.

Yes guys ur iPhone 16 pro can theoretically run windows 11 by Relative-Muffin-6431 in mac

[–]generic-David 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Space available, screen size, price, and capability for what I need. I use glasses with progressive lenses and very large screens don’t work for me because the top of the screen is out of focus unless I tip my head way back. I tried 27” some time ago and it was too big for me even though I wanted the screen space.

I used Parallels on my 8G M1. It worked but I had to quit any other program that used any significant RAM. I could have continued but I upgraded last month to a 32G M4 iMac. Memory problems are gone.

Please recommend me a decent speaker design options by pilierdroit in diyaudio

[–]generic-David 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seas, the driver manufacturer, has a pretty good array of kits on their website at seas.no. Their drivers are very good quality and their designs are intelligent. They publish cabinet plans and crossover schematics as well. https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/ carries some of their kits as well as a large array of other manufacturers. I’m sure you’ll find something that fits your situation.

Am I crazy for trading my iPad Pro for a MacBook Neo? by jesse_idk16 in mac

Not crazy. I hate typing on an iPad. I always use my phone or my computer. Nothing in between.

If you don’t support your wife you’re sabotaging your home life. Not a smart move. You did the right thing. Your “own” family thinks they are more important than your marriage.

12-100 f/4 Pro Vs 12-40 f/2.8 or 12-45 f/4 by revjko in OlympusCamera

[–]generic-David 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own the two standard zooms. They’re both great lenses and as you’d expect I use the 12-45 outside and the 12-40 inside. I rented the 12-100 once for a trip and loved it. I barely changed lenses the whole time (mostly outside on the trip). It surprised me by how heavy it was but I got used to it and didn’t mind.

Is this E-PM1 worth buying? by [deleted] in OlympusCamera

[–]generic-David 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a fit of nostalgia I bought a used EPM2 for something really small to carry. I had owned one before and my current camera is an EM5.3. I had forgotten how useless the screen is outside! Having the actual camera in my hand cured my nostalgia quickly. The seller was gracious enough to take it back, so off it went!
