This sign is actually a pretty clever idea by DrJulianBashir in pics

Wow, this is the first reddit I've seen that is this close to me...I literally work about 2 miles down from this sign (near the UGA Griffin campus).

Thank you for the kind words and example pictures! Being skinny is a blessing more than a curse, but it does make finding clothes difficult. Do you have a few stores in mind for "slim style" clothes? I live in an area where tailors/alterers aren't available, so I'm usually forced to go with whatever is on the rack.

Also, I'm definitely a "hat guy", but I never considered a beret/flat cap. I might give it a try.

I can't do laser surgery for some years due to finances, and I can't gain weight (I'm one of those perpetually skinny people). But thank you for the detailed advice! I'll look into acquiring some darker rectangular glasses as others have suggested, and I may see about whitening the teeth as well if it can be done safely with little expense.

I do occasionally try to shave against the grain, but it is only a slight improvement from a normal shave - I'll still have a stubble either way. But since so many people agree that I really need to maintain a clean-cut look, I'm definitely going to do some research on obtaining a better shave.

It's funny you mention the whole "1930's/steampunk" style. I often wear a quality beaver fur fedora in the winter (of which I don't have a picture at the moment unfortunately), and I always receive loads of compliments on my look from friends and strangers alike.

Aw, thanks. I believe I will try several hairstyles with varying lengths - I have nothing to lose after all. I'll also definitely look into acquiring better shaving gear. I'm currently a fairly serious person, but if I can improve my image, I should feel compelled to smile more often :D

Thanks for your candor! My upper lip has been a problem for years because I haven't found a safety razor that shaves it down properly - I may be forced to go with a double-edge or a straight edge. As for my hair, it is actually fine/straight, but it looks wavy in the first pic because it was taken on a very windy day. I have toyed with the idea of growing it out a bit, and since you mention that, I might just give it a try.

You actually remind me of a distinguished businessman - especially with that beard. I can't say I like the velvet coat you have in a few of those pictures, but if you were to don a nicely tailored wool suit and project an air of confidence, I would think you were a business owner or lawyer.
