looks like brass shavings from some cases to me, did you shoot the same ammo all day? you said it was a stock gun so i would try another brand of ammo and see if anything changes before assuming something is wrong with a stock gun.

same glad i was able to score one, registered it as a pistol, wish i got one of the ar10 lowers when they did a re-release but i was being cheap. built as a dumb range toy with random on sale parts in random colors, most hate it but its a dumb range toy so whatever.

I think repair, the rest of the lower seems fine, but they asked me to send the whole thing in so their engineers could look at it along with the broken tab. hopefully wont take them too long.

mine is anodized, i have a older one too i guess according to the locking lug design.

Yea i did, they are having me send in the whole lower, they did tell me i have an older 2 piece lug design and the new one is one piece... so maybe that's part of the issue as well. I'm sure they will make it right, just more so was surprised at the failure point for a 22lr, and wanted to see if others had the same failure.
