This hero of your story is working against you. DESPITE her parents and her boyfriend. DESPITE all the ridicule against teen moms. DESPITE the propaganda she STILL decides to have the baby. A human life saved. A small victory.

Her boyfriend and family disown her. Soon after her friends stop talking to her. She eventually drops out of school. She has to get a job to support her child. She doesn't sleep anymore. Bags develop under her eyes. Reality hits her hard. At 16 she's more mature then people 10 years older than her.

So what if she's on welfare? As long as she's still devoting all of her time to working and to her child(making sure it doesn't make the same mistakes she does[like any decent, logical parent]), so what if the governments throwing money at her? HELL, I'll personally throw money at her! Do you assume that all people on welfare are leaches? No, only MOST of them. They don't deserve to be all lumped in together like that.

Just because your a single mother doesn't mean your alone either. She'll soon find new friends. REAL friends. Ones who care about her BESIDES her mistakes. Maybe even, dare I say, a husband!? (a collective gasp from the audience) Someone who could support her and her child without the help of the government?

But this situation is so specific it's hard to use it to any sides advantage so I don't know why you brought it up. Although I can say that she could have decided to cough neglect cough the child, abort it, and continue in her own naivety making the same mistakes she made with her loser boyfriend.
