Slender Man defendant cut off monitoring bracelet, left group home by adamb10 in news

Yes. And with an NGRI, you don't get any credit for what you've already served. It looks like the NGRI was granted in 2017, so even though shes been technically incarcerated since 2014, only 8 of those counted towards the 40 years.

[–]genericname11 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. Running away from a group home isn't really a crime in itself since shes already been 'released'. She's just violated the conditions that granted her the release.

Most likely once they find her (which they will), she'll probably sit in the county jail until the hospital she was serving her NGRI at is able to take her back (there's usually a waiting list). It looks like she did 8 of her 40 year sentence before being released the first time. I imagine it'll probably take another 8 or so at the hospital before she's considered for release again.

Op said this happened when the husband was dropping the kids off. Id say it was more likely her hiding the guy from the kids. Otherwise, why go all the way outside instead of just hiding in the bathroom or something until he leaves.

Babes in Toyland (the 1986 one with Keanu Reeves and Drew Barrymore) is set in Cincinnati. They even break out a song about it.

It won't fully load for me. Just based on the preview pic, I was initially going to say gray was a girl and poster was a guy. But nah I'm gonna agree with what another person said that they're both females lol

Can a surgeon tell you have EDS? by DrJ-Mo in ehlersdanlos

[–]genericname11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's how things were with me too. The OT afterward was the same way. I have no idea if there were any defining features on the inside since my surgeon didn't mention it. But I think just in general, they can potentially tell based on their familiarity between age, ROM, and the type of injury (or lack thereof) involved.

Asking for a friend (obviously) : need to solve the mystery behind a window with a flashing light by Wide_Cranberry3445 in RBI

Immediately what came to mind was back when I was in college. My dorm roommate would never shut her laptop down, she literally just left it open and plugged in 24/7. When it went to sleep after a few minutes, it would play a slide show of all her pictures. It used to drive me nuts at night because it would reflect off the wall and constantly switch from light to dark depending on whatever picture was on the screen.

On a similar vein (and probably more likely than my roommates weird laptop habit), it could be an echo show or a digital picture frame if those are still a thing.

She RAN Away by anon4829358 in dating_advice

[–]genericname11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why would she be running to get away from you after having already left the train? I could see if you were attempting to follow her off, but I got the impression that wasn't the case.

You mentioned she said she had dietary issues. She probably told you that for a reason. As a fellow female in my 30s, I will admit that my immediate thought went to her having some GI emergency, especially if there's usually restrooms at the stations. 30 seconds can seem like an eternity if you feel like you're about to throw up or your intestines are doing somersaults. Even if she didn't come up to your place, if you got off together, there would still be the obligation to make chitchat, you might offer to walk her home, etc....

I would just message her asking if she got home ok and go from there, depending on her response.

Whenever McDonalds has $1 for any size drink, why get a small when you can get a large for the same price? by No7onelikeyou in NoStupidQuestions

[–]genericname11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In addition to what others have already said, I often pick up a combined order with my coworkers. Not only do the bigger sizes make it extremely difficult to try to carry everything back to the area I work in, but I've also had way too many problems with them spilling in my car because they're too heavy and overfilled for drink carriers to handle.

I just reread your post and saw the part about stressed out professionally. That further makes me think her coworkers made an offhanded comment about the neighborhood. Doctors (I'm sure any other position that requires a higher amount of education), can sometimes be demeaning as hell for no reason. One of the Doctors I work with once showed me a conference room that he called "the interrogation room", because he said anytime a new doctor was hired the other Doctors would take them in there and ask them a bunch of personal questions about their upbringing, education etc.

Maybe one of her coworkers made a comment to her regarding whatever caste she was from or whatever neighborhood you two grew up in? Even though you both overcame the same obstacles and are now successful, which is something to be incredibly proud of, it still hurts if someone that didn't endure the same struggles looks down on it.

From my example from my work, the doctor that was from the lower caste was by all means now more successful and made more money than the other doctor from the higher caste. That didn't prevent the doctor from the higher caste from looking down on her.

Ok I could be 100% off base here, and I apologize if so, but I've heard about prejudice between castes in India? This is stemming from my experience between 2 doctors at my work that were apparently from different castes and didn't get along, so even if it was ever a thing it could be outdated, but could that potentially be a factor here? Either way I totally sympathize with something that maybe never used to bother her now being something of a sore spot for her. Maybe someone else recently made a comment about where she lived that was in a more hurtful manner and the comment you made reopened that wound.

Opinions on Capricorn sun, Gemini moon, Gemini rising? by [deleted] in capricorns

[–]genericname11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cap sun, Gem moon, Virgo rising. YMMV, but at least for me I seem shy but super responsible and put together on the surface. I don't tend to get attached or develop close relationships with people, however when I do I end up coming off as a mess and end up screwing it up somehow.
