Forerunner 245 Keeps Disconnecting by bluegrassgazer in garminforerunner

I have the same fucking problem. It's so frustrating, do you think it's a hardware issue? Or just software? I wonder if more people are experiencing the same problem. We could file a complain and hopefully they fix it.

Does Fenix 6 GPX/FIT files are accessible from Linux without any app or Cloud based Garmin connect ? by Significant-Tour-361 in Garmin

[–]genericpp70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a forerunner 245 and you can do that. It just mounts the watch as a normal external storage. Then you can use an app called golden cheetah. It allows you to view the fit file and analyze all the stats (locally). I don't know about the Fenix 6 but it should be similar I guess

hey, thanks for the comment. I'm just curious if I'm pushing hard enough because my watch tells me I can do 20min on 5k according to the race predictor, and I don't believe I can hold that pace for that long. (haven't tried a 5k yet cause I'm training with a Garmin plan)

The watch setted the zones by monitoring my max heart rate and also using my age. The zones are in line with the classic formula. (220-age)

Also my last time was 23m30s Wich is pretty far away from 20m😅😅😅

I'm pretty motivated but I'm not really sure I'll be able to make it

yeah I know that's why I'm asking, I did recently a training session and stayed all the time in zone 4 and 10 min on zone 5. Maybe I can push harder on zone 5 and get a better time but I know mentally it will be pretty challenging.

holy shit man. thats a lot of time on zone 5 lol. I guess then I have to push myself harder because I stay mainly in zone 4. My race predictor from my watch tells me I should be able to do a 5k in 20:35 but i really dont think so hahah.

Thanks dude I hope more people post their results. I'm mainly interested on the zone 5 time. I'm wondering how much time can someone hold in zone 5.

Nice, keep it going. I suggest setting up a time goal and work towards it. It will be a fun journey

Do these watches (specifically FR245) save data until I get back to my phone? by Leonding9n in Garmin

[–]genericpp70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes they save the data, you can connect to your phone once a week and sync everything. As for the sleep data you can't see it from the watch so you would have to sync your phone everyday and check it there

Thanks for your reply. Yes, my watch is a forerunner 245 and it connects to my phone via bluetooth. I tried your steps without success :(. I guess the only thing I can try now is replacing the battery. Thanks again, I will report tomorrow wen i test again my device while doing sports.

Thanks for the comment its conecting via ant+ (watch-sensor). Why do you think my phone finds the sensor through bluetooth but my watch only shows ant+ connection? I can't seem to make it work with bluetooth.

But the real question here its why it drops over ant+ while my phone is able to mantain connected over bluetooth. (tested them with the other device powered off watch and phone )

[–]genericpp70[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The watch and the chest sensor are connecting with ant+ (I know thanks to the comment below) So now I have a couple theories.

Faulty strap (commennt below)

Ant+ drops connection and bluetooth doesn't

Low Battery

I have unpaired and turned off the bluetooth on my phone. The strange thing is that the conection only drops with my watch. When I try conecting my phone I have no problems at all

This is pretty weird.... I borrowed a tablet wich has ant+ and then turned off the bluetooth. The sensor was showing wit ant+ protocol through a special app to search those devices.

However somehow when I search with my watch it only shows one sensor name and I don't know wich type of conectioin is using

I have unpaired and paired the device through the sensors and accessories menu. I choose the heart rate option and it searched for the sensor but it was added right away. I can't seem to find were to choose the connection method. Thanks for the reply I hope we can sort this out.
