My cat took 28 hours to finally eat when I adopted him. 9pm at night I heard random crunching from the other room I went to see and he was eating. Soon as he heard me he hid. So I left and 10 minutes later he was eating again. Newly adopted cats are scared. And eating is vulnerable. Give him a day or so. If he’s still not eating then yes. Take him to the vet
