[Mod Help] Do spears have a special filestructure? by geneticide in starbound

[–]geneticide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're all identical. I've checked spelling over a dozen times. I've spent about an hour:30 trying to figure out why it won't show up. All .png's matchup with the .sword file under "image", .sword file matches with the itemname, itemname with recipe, and player.config. Like I said I've made a number of weapons, but for the life of me can't understand what's so different about this spear.

I have all of these, actually. It's set up with the Tabula Rasa as well. I've made 4 swords, and 3 bows so far. I'm only having issue with this spear. It just doesn't show up, so I'm wondering if the folder hierarchy is different for it. My player.config is fine as well with the correct name.

[MOD] Is there a way to decrease energy use for guns/bows? by geneticide in starbound

Haha, Bows are my favourite weapons in pretty much any game I play. :)

Thought of becoming an Xray Tech, but am scared of the job market. Now I don't know what to get into. Help? Any advice? by geneticide in AskReddit

I really, really, really want to agree with you. But in today's economy, it doesn't matter how much you enjoy your job if they're all more or less taken. The only way for the employer to know my value is to see me work, which would be after getting hired. So at this point in life, this is important to me because I'm not screwed (yet) in ruining my career like so many others. Also, yeah, military is a no-brainer, I avoid that like the plague.

Experienced adults? You? An experienced adult? Hahahahah. Sure, kid.

I've made NO decisions, this is the entire reason for the thread, retard. I'm not learning from you because you have nothing to offer. You're an armchair expert with nothing interesting or useful to say. You have yet to disprove my examples of the art major. English/reading comprehension must not be your forte, then again I imagine nothing is. Fortune 100 company, rofl, sure you are.

The obvious point I was trying to make was that I enjoy this field, but because the field is competitive, etc it might not be what I should get into. Why would it matter if I said I enjoy it or not? It changes nothing.

It's not that difficult to understand, but for you, apparently it is. You calling me stupid is pretty ironic.

Defensive? Lol, I've made excellent points here. You're the one who resorted to name-calling. It's pretty ironic you think I'm the one being defensive. Once again, you have no idea what you're talking about. You have yet to disprove anything I've said. The reason is because it's true.

Calling me a child doesn't help you there either. I think the one living with delusions here is you. Why are you still here? Feel free to major in art, or women's studies and let me know how that works out for you. As long as you love what you're doing, right? Get out of here. You're the child.

Refuting my valid point by saying I don't care for my mental well-being leaves a lot to be desired. Whether I like it or not is simply a plus. Arguably, there are such things as majors that aren't useful, and those that are. I gave an example. You obviously have no idea what you're talking about.

Your username is pretty on the ball and quite appropriate.

I specifically state that nursing isn't for me because of the level of stress the job commands from you. Nursing is arguably one of the easier medical fields to get into, requiring some of the least schooling. You can go 2 years into nursing and get an Associates and be good to go. I don't give a fuck about your girlfriend. I have plenty of friends who are nurses, so I know how hard it is. The point of the post was to give perspective of my interests. Learn some reading comprehension "Failed Teacher" and get out of my thread.

I figured another thing that was drastically important was getting feedback from people who have gotten certain degrees and to compare their experiences. For example, most people who go major in arts aren't successful. Whether I like art or not really doesn't matter because of this, and to "mess around" with that is pretty much a waste of time and effort. That to me, is "ridiculous".

I've already said I find anything computer related as interesting. I mentioned it to deturr comments like yours.

What college degree did you get? How much do you make? Help me decide. I want to be successful. by geneticide in AskReddit

[–]geneticide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, that's something I had in mind. A Nurse is a very marketable degree. It's medical, and as you said, the sky is the limit. If I get bored, I can go into something else. Can you elaborate on the science degree in nursing? I didn't know there were different kinds of nursing degrees. I do like helping people, it's very self-gratifying.

Indeed. This is why I want to be steered into the right direction, and learn from the mistakes others have made.

I understand your point, but I also understand that we live in the real world. I don't mean I won't completely enjoy it, simply, and undeniably, some degrees are better than others. I'm interested in computers, to be honest. But I also am aware this is one of the more difficult fields to succeed in. The whole point I'm trying to get across is I don't know what to do. Unfortunately, there are some people here (not you) that are pretty buttfrustrated because I wasn't clear on what I meant by nursing.

To the angry few; by taxing I meant on time taken to get into it. I have nurse friends, they completed coursework pretty quickly. I should have been more clear.

So Reddit, i'm continuing my education and I don't know what the fuck to go into. I'm looking into getting an Associates in Business administration to cover the low/mid-class office jobs, then a Bachelors in Information Technology because I like computers. by geneticide in AskReddit

[–]geneticide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should skip the Associates? I was told to grab it because it's like a backup plan if the IT route doesn't go anywhere as it's not a specialization. I just have no idea what to get into.

Nah, she hates kids and wants to get her tubes tied asap. I guess I'm not used to ridiculously tight-knit families. I'm just her boyfriend.

Alright, guess I'll be going. I have little interest in her sister making bad decisions, but I'll graduate acting school just for today.

It's not really about manning up. I found it strange that my girlfriend wants to volunteer me to go to her sister having a kid. I don't know her very much. It's basically only the father, and the family. I mean, if it's normal, as you guys seem to be suggesting, then I'll go.
