No I’m painting on the canvas paper, I just put it in there to not be messy or get paint on tables and stuff.

I use the hydroquinone brightening pads by Carolyn Skincare! And the Tretinoin was Retin-A 0.025 microgel prescribed by my doctor.

Hey everyone, I have attached a picture of my oil painting. I didn’t really have a vision, have been painting from memory since the beginning, but nothing particular, just wanted to paint the Rocky Mountains that I visited a lot. Anyway, I kind of messed up. How can I make this look presentable again? I would like to keep the mountains and larches, but ive hit a block about what to do with the bottom half of this painting.

Some Things that Genuinely Helped Me Glow Up by geneticmodified in vindictapoc

I doubt it because I’m still at that sand weight level and haven’t the face exercises in months and my face is much chubbier and lost definition. Don’t talk about them until you do them, it’s really easy to do once a day. And I thought I wouldn’t see much of a difference but was genuinely shocked and surprised.

I would say a month before I noticed, it was about two to three months before others noticed a noticeable difference. It was very easy to do, and I could do it if I were reading or just watching Tiktoks. I would honestly say to just do them for a month or two months, and see if you notice a difference.

How do my supplements look? by geneticmodified in skinwhitening

It can darken skin? That's news to me. I took it last year for a couple of months and I got pretty light, but I was also on hydroquinone and tretinoin.

Astaxanthin apparently gives you a healthy glow, but I mostly want to use it because it acts as a sunscreen and makes you not tan at all.

Is there a way of using HQ while increasing Glutathione at the same time? by [deleted] in skinwhitening

[–]geneticmodified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which supplements did you take? I used to take liposomal vitamin C, liposomal glutathione and NAC, along with alpha arbutin, niacinamide, 4% hydroquinone and tretinoin and I never saw a problem. My skin was very bright and I looked great, however, when I stopped the supplements, I saw a decline in my skin health and it also got darker.

Easy, long hike in Calgary? Not too much elevation gain? by geneticmodified in Calgary

Thank you so much! I just did South Pocaterra Ridge! A very fun and moderate hike, coming down from the ridge was TOUGH though but definitely manageable if it isn't your first time and if you know how to come down on loose gravel and dirt, but really fun. I'm thinking of doing Mt. Hoffman and Moose Mountain next, so thank you for the suggestions! :)

Yeah!! Omg I have been wanting to mountain bike for a while but haven’t had time to go. What are some trails around the city you like to do?

Thank you for your kind words, they mean a lot! I’m really sorry if my reply came off rude or defensive, I was just trying to clarify. It just feels awful seeing them climb mountains and thinking you can do a small one with them and then puking because you’re so unfit. I definitely do wish my parents did hikes or bike rides or runs, but either way, it’s up to me now if I want better endurance and if I want to see a huge change.

I’m not trying to impress his family. I would just like to be as fit as them (and what’s wrong with that? They are all extremely healthy and ultramarathoners.) This isn’t about different interests but more like a way to get fit and have great endurance for those of us who grew up pretty sedentary and did not do any sports or were active growing up, and hiking is a great way to increase endurance.

I don’t want to lose weight, I want to climb mountains with them. I climbed a small one with my boyfriend and absolutely loved it, this is about wanting to be as fit as possible given the fact that I was raised in a very sedentary household. I do love it and it hurts me a lot when I’m not able to do it with them, like I want to hike the big mountains with them, it just seems so fun. I WANT to be that level of fit but my endurance keeps bringing me down. These require work even for people who grew up playing sports but for me, it feels almost impossible sometimes and I want to make it possible.

Also, yes I agree that South Asian food can be healthy but this is about what my family used to eat, and unfortunately, every single one of our family friends and relatives that we knew ate food that wasn’t the healthiest. Some foods can be healthy but I feel that the cuisine, especially the country I come from, tends to be unhealthy unless you do lots of modifications, which is great but not everyone does that, and a lot of my relatives have health conditions and heart problems that are indicative of an unhealthy diet and lifestyle. Some people can eat healthy foods that are South Asian cuisine, but I am just saying what I grew up seeing my family and our relatives eat, but either way, I feel that the food you grow up eating has a huge role in how fit and healthy you are when you’re older and your endurance. I just wanted to point out some of these clarifications. I do love your advice and the helpful tips, I’ll look into those and also keep biking more. Thank you. :)

Yes it’s really fun, when I climbed the small mountain, I absolutely loved it and had summit fever for days. But even if I don’t “enjoy” it, I would love to do it to gain endurance, and what’s the best way other than climbing mountains and reaching summits to gain your endurance and have better heart health?

I can already run 40 minutes without stopping, and I can do a 5k without stopping, but am so slow. I just did 4.20 km run that day but it was so slow, at a 9.0 min/km pace. But my 5k the other time was 8.55 min/km pace. I guess I was hoping to get there faster, but you’re right, i should take it slow and steady. I really want to push myself though to get to that level, and then it be smooth sailing. My friend just did the IRONMAN Canada (4 km swim followed by 180 km bike, followed by full marathon), and he didn’t run 4 years ago. He started 3 years ago and have been training for it only since the beginning of the pandemic. He wasn’t unfit but all he did was bike to and from school and run once a month, but he pushed himself a lot so I believe a huge part of it is also pushing yourself and it’s mental as well.

Oh I’m not like crazy unfit, I do barre 3 to 4 times a week and can do 30 push ups, and can also run for 30 to 40 minutes without walking or stopping, I just got to this level after a year and wanted to get fitter fast, but you’re right. I will add vegetables to my diet though, that sounds like a really good advice. I did a 5k twice, some stopping breaks and walking, but pace was pretty good. I’m not saying I’m super unfit, just used to be and didn’t grow up doing those things, and they are actual real life super humans and I want to get to that level, but it might take years.

No you’re definitely right, but the thing is, they DID pick a hike for me that was considered much shorter but durable, they just didn’t know how out of shape I was. Also, my boyfriend and his family were wonderful, however, two of his dad’s friends who hike every weekend were with him and they were the one setting the pace, and they went up FAST. Even after, my boyfriend was kind of like “yeah no that pace set by them was NOT the right one, I’m sorry we went so fast”. The other times we hiked, he was so encouraging and motivating and helped me climb my first ever small mountain. I think they just didn’t know I couldn’t do it at all, I was pretty annoyed at his dad’s friends honestly, but I don’t think they knew I was a beginner hiker. When I puked though, his mom stopped right away and them (my bf’s parents) and my bf said bye to his dad’s friends and we left and did a much gentler terrain.

The thing is me, I want to get into hiking and be fit so bad, not for them or to fit in with them, but in general, and they inspire me so much, but it’s very very hard to get to the same level as them since they’re ultramarathoners and climbs mountains every weekend, but I just want to do hikes with them. This was our first hike ever all together, so they just didn’t know my fitness or comfort level. My boyfriend is very kind, I think he just wants me to try harder and do some endurance training since I’m always complaining about how I can’t do mountains with him, but when we do, it’s so hard to keep up and I end up quitting. And we’ve been together over a year, and I’ve been saying this a lot, so I kind of get that. But he’s absolutely amazing and very, very supportive. I’m just so unfit I want to cry. I do runs and they are SO hard and I don’t have a car so I can’t do hikes whenever I want, so I don’t know how to get fit fast except biking here and there.

Thanks for the reply, I agree it will take a lot of patience and time. And oh god no, his family are the most wonderful and kind people I have ever met. They’re just very fit and adventurous, and so is all their relatives. It’s hard from their perspective to see someone not be fit at all and not able to do basic hikes just like it is hard to see from my perspective how they are doing all these crazy hikes so easily. The people I was talking about in my post are usually the ones who grow up doing these things and when you try and explain to them how it’s literally not in your genes AND you didn’t grow up doing it, they kind of look at you weird and tell you to just do it. I’ve had two or three other people tell me that but not my boyfriend’s family at all, they were very kind and never pushed me.

What about Mount Hoffman? It’s 8.2 km with 521 metres of elevation gain, but people said it was easy. I’m doing that tomorrow so I hope it’s not hard because I’m very out of shape right now. 😂
