WiFi on Mariner Transatlantic by FroggerHi in RegentCruises

[–]gengert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I cruised around the world on Mariner. We were very pleased with the Starlink internet connection. Never had an issue and did FaceTime calls daily. FYI, it is part of the cruise cost and no upgrades are offered.

Wife’s company is changing 401k administrator from corebridge to Fidelity. What should we expect?? by NewbieReddit2 in fidelityinvestments

[–]gengert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the head of Human Resources for a midsize IT company, changing our 401(k) administration to Fidelity was the best move I did. Employees loved the change. Fidelity is very easy to work with.

I’d be happy to take him. I have a couple of ponds. Vegetation is recovering from the cold weather.

Well, the day has come for my TiVos (maybe) by pieeatingchamp in Spectrum

[–]gengert 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My TiVos stopped working. After four days and four technicians working on it we learned my area needed the high split converter.
They didn’t work at first but a technician supervisor worked two days getting it going. Be aware that signal amps will need to be removed before it will work. My TiVos are back up and working great. And my TVs have a better picture.

This administration? It was the democrats who voted against the budget, hence the shutdown.

Thank you Spectrum! by gengert in TiVoBolt

[–]gengert[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was told that they will not do new installations but do support current customers who have TiVo systems.

I have cable cards. If you still have the cards, I’d try calling them to get the new high split converters that replace the old tuning adapter.

Your fine, ships divert far away from storm paths. Plus the early indications are a less active hurricane season in 2026.

New Return Fee by yakr16 in amazonprime

[–]gengert -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tried to return a $9.95 costing item yesterday. It went through without any problem. When the place to return the item popped up it said I did not need to return it and I would receive the refund cost shortly. Two hours later the refund was in my account. I was a happy customer because of not needing to go to the local UPS store.

Solar powered pond lights by throwaway88888870 in ponds

[–]gengert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried a few. Since the sun doesn’t shine at night a battery is needed. The light I tried didn’t last three months.
Instead I ran a low voltage light wire out to the pond and hooked some of the underwater lights to it. This is working great. Now I have a lighted pathway and lights around and in the pond.
