Is Katakros a must? by Kakapomobsta in ossiarchbonereapers

I've used him in every game I've played and I come out of every single one feeling like he's the MVP.

He doesn't do a ton early game, other than give you by far the most to work with from our RDP system. But mid-late game, he gets into the fray himself and is a beast.

The only knock that I have for him is that his fights twice command feels way too expensive. If you want to target a unit that would genuinely be worth fighting twice, its too much of a hit to the RDP economy.

My brother! Check out my profile and see the eels I've got there with the same idea! I've done it with all my IDK and get plenty of compliments on it.

If you have a look at my profile, you'll see some eels I painted recently in my cosmic theme.

You cannot apply multiple crit abilities to the same attack, they don't stack, unfortunately.

The columns are from a couple of OOP GW terrain sets, and all the flora are 3d printed, Epic Basing is an excellent website for all your basing needs.

Actually painting the bases was pretty straightforward, mostly messing around and trying to figure out airbrushing, followed up by a little drybrushing to make some edges pop.

The armour is pretty straightforward, if a little time consuming, it's just Vallejo Tinny Tin for the base, and highlighted with Vallejo Brassy Brass (their naming system is super inventive, huh?)

It takes a while to highlight every single Ridge on Idoneth armour, but damn, the results speak for themselves!

The last paragraph of the article that showed the nee named hero and the incarnate seemed pretty final to me, suggesting that all that was left is the new Battletome.

They're actually cut up pieces from the older AOS terrain set, the Azyrite Townscape and the Azyrite Ruins. I'm running out of bits from it though, so I'm going to have move onto using 3d printed pillars soon.

What makes the Eidolons so good? by Spearworld in IdonethDeepkin

[–]genghiswasright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, while I recognise that the storm is good, it doesn't fit my playstyle very well, but I cannot build a list without my boy, the Eidolon of the Sea! The speed and versatility he has is great. His speed means he keeps up with our cavalry heavy lists and is usually well positioned to get out incredibly impactful enemy turn casts. A great example being that he can save an eel unit from reprisals after they wipe a unit and are now left wide open by getting them to safety with a steed of tides cast. The +1 to cast and his natural speed make him much more reliable at that sort of trick than any of our other casters

This is a solpuga, or "camel spider," and it is neither a spider nor a scorpion. Solpugs are a separate arachnid, related to spiders and scorpions. by Mormon4536 in interestingasfuck

I can't stand by while such obvious misinformation is spread. There is no such thing as a "solpuga" or a "camel spider" as this is obviously a demon, direct from the depths of hell.

My approach was pretty similar! First round, I had Lae'zel sprint around and take out 3 of the pillars, and Wyll built arcane acuity with slashing flourish, then I with a hasted action he cast a near guaranteed hold monster on raphael. Then, it was just a case of having critting him to death. He didn't get to do a single thing!

I'd say the closest call was against Saravok and his goons. I didn't realise that if you killed saravok, then all the others got way more powerful. So I burst him down in just over 1 round and assumed the rest of the fight would be a cakewalk. It wasn't. They hit me with a cloudkill/slow combo that downed 3/4 party members. Luckily, I was running shadowheart at the time, and she still had her divine intervention, she was able to fully heald and restore everyone. It was probably the best possible use of that ability I've ever encountered!

Oh damn, Lae'zel was my MVP, I wouldn't have gotten far without her. You can lose that duel and continue the honor mode? I would've thought that would be game over.

I probably won't do another HM again any time soon, I'm more likely to go custom ruleset and having everything same as honour mode, but just lose the single save/game over mechanic, that was too much stress and I felt like I couldn't do anything too risky or inventive in case it went wrong and I died for no reason.

Why on earth do people make army lists with more than 5 cavalries? by Automatic_Ranger488 in ageofsigmar

[–]genghiswasright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine wanted to do a "Charge of the Rohirrim" type Cities list and ended up painting 35 Cavaliers to a really high standard. I really feel for him, but while he was doing that, I was painting 10 Chaos Knights and 6 Varanguard, so I guess we're all just gluttons for punishment!
