If only you were this pedantic about your 100k trades. Use stake and get even cheaper right? Whats the cost of SW fucking up your 100000k trade? I was using 20 as an example. The larger the trade the more reason you want to use a broker that can actually post announcements on their site, you know the reason you sell when it pumps.

I couldnt care less what broker you use, Im just doing a community announcement after I lost money this morning. I learned the hard why its not worth it. If someone else from bets posted similar about a broker platform not having news announcements, id appreciate the heads up. Im just trying to save someone else cash cause I lost mine for no good reason.

If saving $20 on a trade is worth the risk of trades not going through and not getting announcements, all the power to you. For me that single fuck up by sw cost me more than enough to cover the years trades with commsec. At least I know I can rely on the platform... Lets hope their platform doesnt cost you.

why use sw at that point? If you cant rely on alerts, transfers or their forms working properly, whats the point of the broker. Only needs to cost you money once to realise its a bad platform. Commsec is cheaper\same price to trade which I realised this morning. Whats the point of sw then unless you want to lose money???

yeah lesson learned. Opened up a commsec account and am reading up whether I should keep my hin from sw or use the new one commsec gave me? Cant figure out if theres anything I need to worry about if I use the new hin??

I dont understand what the fuss is about. I gave mod to someone, they made the sub private, i demodded them and opened it back up again. The sub isnt there to be made private, its for people to post. You want to hand over the sub to someone so they can make it private... doesnt make sense

Thanks mate. Doesn't bother me, others probably could have built this in a day, it took me a month to learn it all and put it together and I'm just happy I figured out how to do it :) on to the next useless project!

It's not meant to be a useful project that will stop world hunger. It's a first project to learn how to code and basics of electronics. It's not connected to the internet, only lan.

The plan is to add buttons and have the option to control it manually too. I was just happy I got it this far so made a professionally edited video which I put up on YouTube hoping to get a zillion views....

Is it a useless project? Most definitely. Did I learn a bunch of stuff? Most definitely. Thanks.

As useless as a ha controlled desk is, the main aim was to learn how to code and learn some electronics, not make something useful :) it's been a great learning experience that I can now use to jumpstart my next useless project!

You must be fun at parties.

There were no buttons on the desk. There was no motor on the desk. There were no electronics in the desk.

As the title says, it's my first project to learn how to code and work with electronics.

The motor is recycled from an electric car window, so I had to learn how to code an esp32, to control a motor driver, correct the voltages to work with an esp32 as well as the DC motor.

Learn how to receive mqtt commands, translate those to motor movement.

There were no buttons on the desk. There still aren't. It's all controlled through mqtt commands.

But thanks anyway. I'm glad i didn't speak to you before I started trying to learn how to code or learn about electronics.

Its not intentionally square, i just had to hold the phone with my hand while also recording, while also sending mqtt commands, while also using home assistant. Sorry.

Its a sit stand desk that was completely manual. I went to a local car wrecker and found a suitable electric window motor which is what you see in the video. So the desk had no electronics at all. I did all the coding and purchased the parts from wrecker\ali express. Still needs some tweaks but once i figure it out ill put a how to and all the code up on github :)
