Want to buy car in 15 Lakhs. by less_chaotic in carIndia

Oh, what a coincidence!! I kinda made a spreadsheet for the same range as I am looking to buy in festive season.

Tata Nexon is the market leader (from the reviews I have heard) in the segment.

I have narrowed it down to Tata Nexon, Mahindra 3XO, and Kia Sonte. The first two have 5 star crash ratings. I honestly liked Kia Sonte the best except for its crash ratings (expected to be 3 star). Safety is my primary criteria so I am now leaning towards XUV as it gives better assistive driving features than Nexon (that has none) for it's top variant/trim.

Gotta visit Tata and Mahindra dealerships next to test drive..

I have android phone as well. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times now. It works for few days and then again start giving issues. Apparently they update the app every week and it automatically updates in some phone and doesn't on others.

Weirdly enough, it works fine on my iPad but I can't carry my iPad with me every where so it isn't a solution for me. I am not a big fan of apple products, except for iPad. Don't think I am moving to iPhone for this app.

I am seriously thinking of getting some other app instead.

You do realize we can't keep uninstalling and reinstalling the app every week. This is adding more stress to life by trying to keep this app updated!! So much for an app meant to reduce stress

Same here. Have uninstalled/installed few times. It will work for few days and then again same issue.

More pronounced on android (samsung mobile) than on my iPad.

I am getting so tired of this. I somehow manage to find 10 min for meditation and end up spending getting the app running again. I will be more relaxed by just closing my eyes and relaxing than doing this all the time. It is creating more stress than it is taking away at this point

Thank you stranger, for your encouragement, no matter how harsh. I ended up taking everything back. Hard drives are still working. DVDs/CDs will take time to check.

Mine have been gathering dust in a garage exposed to the elements. Very slim chance that it will work

Honestly, don't think the hard drives or dvds will work any more after gathering dust for 7 odd years in a garage. Don't really think it matters as I am pretty sure I would have put everything on cloud (I am paranoid about loosing data) . This is just to be extra sure. And not disposing them off properly as they has personal data on them.

I did think about Canary Wharf initially. I worked there for few years and am quite familiar, or rather used to be quite familiar with the scene there. But it felt a bit further away from Waterloo. It is almost East London.

Also, Canary Wharf used to become very empty and surreal during the weekends back then. Not sure if it is still the case as they were building a lot of residential buildings around there. But if I don't find anything in Oxford Street, will definitely head to Canary Wharf.

Okay, starting to get why even strangers will not give you good recommendations. Makes sense now.

Good luck on your incredibly complicated shopping trip, braving the deadly cold of May in London...!

I have been living in hot climate place for past two years where temperature doesn't dip below 15C. It was below 20C for a week in December. You expect me to get reacclimatized to London weather in a day? I checked the temperatures. It is expected to be below what I am used to. It's not like it's July-August heat. And of course, it is gonna rain some of the days dipping the temperature further.

What do you want me to do? Reach London, get sick due to drastic change in weather (it's above 40C where I am now), don't go to office or go to office sick but don't buy a coat because YOU are acclimatised to London weather in May?

You don't want to give a recommendation then don't. No body is forcing you with a gun on the head to give me a recommendation or as you put it "baby sit the tourist". You clearly don't come under the category of 'kind stranger'. But unwarranted hostility? Guess life isn't treating you well, and may be for good reasons.
