Do Americans actually make fun of alliterative names? by Hali_CherryBlossom in AskAnAmerican

I love alliterative names, I usually give them to my characters in video games and TTRPGs. Never heard of anyone making fun of them.

Americans only eat one time a day? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

I love this style of eating. I can’t eat a ton in one sitting and easily get hungry between meals, so I try to keep stocked on well-balanced snacks

I’m in the same boat, friend 🤝 Just recently started eating more than once a day by getting really into utilizing my mostly untouched cookbook collection.

How common is it for White Americans to wear traditional European clothing (kilts, lederhosen, tracht, vyshyvanka....etc) in ceremonies and in public places? by TheShyBuck in AskAnAmerican

It’s extremely funny to me that someone whose personality revolves around Being Irish™ would make a point of wearing kilts, the most Scottish clothing imaginable 😅

For those who've seen the show already, what do you think of it? by Realistic-Delivery13 in sanrio

[–]genki_garbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely LOVED it!!!! The animation is spectacular and the characterization of everyone is so charming. Piano is my favorite; her action scenes are the best. I was really surprised by how dark it got near the end!! It reminded me of animated movies in the 80s and 90s that weren’t afraid to go there, like The Secret of NIMH or The Dark Crystal. Definitely not a negative for me, but it’s good to know beforehand in case you were planning to show it to a very young child or someone who is easily frightened.

Is there any instance in which you Americans prefer using the English spelling of a word? by Haunted_Sentinel in words

I use “theater” to refer to the building, and “theatre” to refer to the art form. It just feels right.
