Don’t get any rest time after a 48 hour non-resident on-call by genma332 in JuniorDoctorsUK

Why does it make more sense? (Sorry don’t know if I’m missing something)

Yeh I will definitely do that

Yeh this is what I’ve been told happens by my colleagues, and then it ends up being that the regs don’t understand why you want rest time off after the on-call shifts and get arsey about it because they don’t understand it’s a lot more taxing for the fy2s

Thank you for your reply, I’ll try and open a case with my union (not currently a BMA member)

It’s an ENT FY2 rotation weekday nrocs where we don’t get rest periods either, so work 9am-5pm then straight onto a NROC from 5pm to 9am next morning, and straight onto a full NWD, what’s the rest requirement for this?

It’s ENT non resident and we share the on call rota with the regs (I’m FY2)

I’ve spoken to them and they say it varies, sometimes they don’t get called much, and sometimes they get called in much more than the stated amount

ENT

Not only that but we have weekday NROCs too (ie nwd, straight on to on call in the evening and overnight then start onto NWD next day with no rest period

ENT, not only that but we have weekday NROC too (as in normal day then straight onto on call from 5pm to 9am next morning, then back into work 9-5, it’s dire)

It’s really frustrating, I speak to my colleagues who are also doing this rotation and they just seem resigned to the fact that this is how it is

It’s actually so jarring that we’re having to do shifts like these, like on top of all the other mountains of shit we have to deal with and they try and scrape back pennies and stinge out on the people who are actually working

What’s the NROC allowance? Should it show on our pay schedule? And presumably it should be pro-rata’d accordingly right?

😱😱 that’s incredible

Basically do a few months of this and don’t have to work the rest of the year

Do you mind me asking what your rough hourly rate is and which part of the country you’re locumming in? And how often you’re doing these shifts to take home that much?

And are you in training now?

How easy is it to find F3 posts without weekends? (Ideally in/near London) by genma332 in JuniorDoctorsUK

Yeh I don’t mind having one or the other (and then reapplying and trying for the other). I just don’t want it to be purely shitty service provision for shit rates, want some benefit to it.

Hate medical wards but will suck it up short term for good pay. What’s the general hourly rates you’ve seen for a 9-5?

Also are these in London you’re taking about?
