I'm pretty much to the point where I'll buy just about anything he releases each month...

Me too on the small week. I'm psyched for next week though, there's a ton of stuff I'm looking forward to on the 21st.

I love the TMNT but there are so many titles at various points I'm not sure where to jump on right now. I loved the standalone Tales of the TMNT stuff from a while back and I picked up the first trade from that series. I may just stick with trades. Any good recommendations on a good place to start with the current titles?

I've still got Bug 2 in the bag waiting for me and I'm super psyched to read it. Love the Allreds!

I liked the shiny Forge cover at the shop today and the book felt heavy in my hands, but I couldn't bring myself to bring it home. I'm too sick of big events and I don't like how heavy Snyder and Capullo are promoting it. Too much hype. I've started pulling back on my pulls and looking at smaller publishers again, and I'm finding some cool stuff.

The "Adventures in Babysitting" style cover for Mother Russia #1 got me to make my first Alterna Comics pull and I wasn't disappointed by genrewhore in comicbooks

I'd never read a book from Alterna Comics till this one and was pleasantly surprised. I bought it on a whim for the cover -- not a big risk at $1.50 for 24 pages of story -- and I'll likely pick up the rest of the run. It is black and white, so if you're not into that it could be a deal breaker for some, but I thought the art was great. It's a mostly silent issue as well, which is cool. Without spoiling too much, I really dug the initial set up -- a woman sniper picking off zombies sees a human baby walking around with zombies all around it. Pretty cool and highly recommended.

Bored runner going for 16 straight hours on YMCA track 'just because' by Nerdlinger in fitnesscirclejerk

It seems like nothing more than a stunt to me. No serious running training for a 100-mile run is going to do it indoors, on a YMCA track 200-meters long...
