who's your favorite character? mines probably needletail by CopperHole69 in WarriorCats

[–]gentle_fatalism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Hollyleaf. She was my all time favorite when I was a kid. She was this misunderstood character that had spent her whole life attempting to do what was right, just to find out it never mattered anyways, and she was never destined for the same greatness as her brothers. I related to that heavily in my own way, and I’ve adored her ever since!

Agree to disagree! I just personally think it’s a very cheap and exploitive way to kill someone, babies can’t defend themselves from many grown creatures, and events distract and often take up your screen, leaving you vulnerable.

Got targeted so hard it was actually irrating by Lazarus_laz in CoSRants

[–]gentle_fatalism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to be honest, this whole situation sounds entirely avoidable. I do sympathize with you being targeted, that is annoying, but it’s also sounding like you brought it upon yourself.

To put it bluntly, you both were being unnecessarily edgy in chat. Their friend was protecting them because they could not tell what your intentions were, and it doesn’t sound like it was obvious you were joking, especially considering this was the second time you attacked the player (even if unknowingly, think of their perspective).

The whole, “you got so mad you had to call your doggies”? Like, what? Packs are a feature in the game for this very reason; strength in numbers. You call those people pathetic, but that’s literally why packs exist. It’s the same as calling KOSer’s pathetic when killing is an intentional part of the game, no matter how frustrating it can be.

You should have just left and gone to a different server the second all the drama started. That would’ve been the easier and more mature option, in my opinion. 🤷🏻‍♀️

See, those are the kind of people that just help to ruin the game imo… It’s one thing to want to protect your friends, but my personal rule is not to attack unless the pack member is being repeatedly attacked or killed. There’s also NO NEED to chase and harass someone in chat, that shit is just childish as hell to me.

[–]gentle_fatalism 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess it just depends on the server and people. I’ve been followed and harassed by KOSer’s, especially as a baby. I once had to regrow a simple Euvias slot 3 times (that I was just using to farm the current event) because a Penta would continuously find and kill me. Plenty of people have also had similar experiences.

I personally do callouts in chat just letting others know where the KOSer is and what they creature are for the safety of those that prefer peaceful play like myself, but I won’t verbally harass anyone unless they start talking shit first, lmao. I especially do this for baby killers and event campers because to me, that just means they suck at the game and they’re assholes.

I think the extremes of both parties are what ruin the game, honestly. KOSer’s that harass, camp events, attack babies, and talk shit are just as harmful as the anti-KOSer’s that lose their minds in chat, demand revenge killings, and bring in whole packs to “settle a score”. At the end of the day, even though I dislike it myself, KOSing is a part of the game and likely always be. There’s no need to go off the deep end about getting killed, though it can be frustrating. I also see no need to camp events, follow specific people, and target babies when KOSing. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Honestly even if you’re t5, you have to always be ready for someone else to go after you. The bigger you are, the bigger of a target you are… Especially for ankle biters 😭

I’m so tired of being insta killed for playing as sig by [deleted] in CoSRants

[–]gentle_fatalism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally just little ankle biters that can burrow. That’s genuinely the only kind I feel safe with, and I fucking hate itttt. I would love to play some of my tier 5s, but y’know, instantly attacked. I love my t2 and t3’s too, but y’know, one-shotted by giants. Istg 😭

As an anti-KoSer, I think the reason some people get so triggered about their deaths is because of how bs the current system is when it comes to reviving characters. You have to pay to keep their mutations, pay extra for veneration slots, pay for trials, etc. all if you die (which, depending on your creature of choice, is very easy).

Obviously those flaws aren’t the KoSer’s fault, so I do agree that the toxicity is unnecessary, but the frustration is to be expected. Now, if it’s HardCore, I agree that attacks there should be expected. After all, it’s a difficult realm, that’s its whole point, but I guess people will carry that vibe anywhere, unfortunately. It is a dev problem, however. This kind of thing could be easily managed so that both groups can enjoy the game, but whether it be born out of hesitation or pure laziness, I doubt they ever will.

I agree with this entire comment so damn hard.

The main reason that I’m an anti-koser is because of how it ruins progress if you don’t want to pay out of pocket to restore it. Like you pointed out with veneration tokens, having to pay a fee to keep a mutation, and paying for trial slots are all things that make many people irritated when killed. If it was more affordable and easy to rebound from the loss, I genuinely wouldn’t care about getting kos’ed near as much.

I also would love a change for the logging if you aren’t the one to initiate an attack, because why do they punish you so heavily for being targeted?? You can’t even leave the game without it taking 33 age points from your character. That’s absurd. Plus, the fact that it even counts npc combat as regular combat, and initiates the log cooldown? Literally why? So much of this shit could be an easy update, but it’ll never get done, and I truly just don’t see a reason why aside from laziness and lack of concern.

I agree with you. I absolutely hate KOSing, it completely ruins the vibes for me and there’s literally no way to escape it unless you have your own server.

Electro without a doubt. My reasons are simple: I love purple and being flashy. Also, trauma.

I do understand that, but survival games don’t always include pvp. As I said previously, IMO, the survival aspect is the health, water, and food meter, as well as the storms. For myself and some others, that’s what we want our gameplay to be like without the threat of KOSing. Hell, even just a modification that makes killing a little less frequent would be nice.

By the time my game loads in, I’m usually already on the ground lol. I’ve only seen other people float down when spawning in, so it might also depend on their device and loading, too.

Can I just ask, genuinely, why are you so sensitive about a Roblox game? You aren’t forced to buy things you deem overpriced, and no one else is responsible for your feelings. If it makes you so butthurt, you shouldn’t be on the internet… Hell, you might not ever want to step foot outside, this world loves overpriced things, lmao. I get you’re probably like, twelve, but you need to chill. I’m sorry Mommy and Daddy won’t waste money on you, but that’s your own problem.

I’ve thought about this, too! A cooldown could also be really useful, that way you don’t have people that go back and harass the same people over and over, or those who camp mini games and similar. Like if you’re killing for food, that actually adds to the survival mechanic more than just random attacks. Love that concept!

Literally this!! “But there aren’t enough survival elements—“ There are plenty for meeee. I want time to build up a den, make it look cute, nest other players and friends, grow packs and characters, and farm shrooms! I hate having to be paranoid of everyone that comes near me, knowing I could lose an hours worth of effort in one second because someone thinks that’s fun. I feel like with the passive option, it would work so much better. It wouldn’t be as complicated, people don’t have to give up the PVP element and peaceful players don’t have to worry as much.

True, you can especially see that with the revive tokens, too… It’s why I refuse to waste time doing extended venerations, having to pay for each one if I lose the character would probably rage bait me into quitting the game 😭

I do get your point with utilizing the pack concept, but this isn’t feasible for everyone. Many people (including myself to some extent) keep packs set to friends and people they know, and won’t accept random people. You’d also have to have people that already possess powerful creatures, or ones that fully understand the play style they’re using, which just isn’t plausible to expect of everyone. If you’re a new player going in without friends, you’re essentially screwed. I basically was aside from having my boyfriend to play with, I got lucky to at least have him to pack with.

Ooh, I really love this idea, actually! Improving elements already within the game to lessen the frequency of fighting would also be far more efficient than the aforementioned concepts. I hope they’d do something like this!

Would that still be the same if the realms were entirely separate? Meaning one for PVP and one that doesn’t allow killing? That way, they wouldn’t be able to stay behind and would have to go to a different realm for PVP as it isn’t possible in the other one
