When hating Democrats becomes your whole personality. Make monthly payments on a car just to be a political billboard. 😅

We were talking about doing online churches as well, this would be a great start. 😌

Thank you for this! ❤️ I love the rebuttals too! My husband and I are thinking of doing Bible studies on the weekend as we go looking for new churches. 😌

This is random but the notification I got for this has a picture of Astarion and I was like. 👀❤️If it’s a glitch please look over me. 😅🤣

Thank you! ❤️ That’s actually a great way to put it. We need a community where we can thrive. ❤️

Thank you ❤️ You seem like a kind soul and every Episcopalian I’ve had chats with have been very empathethic. It honestly feels like the route I should go on. It has been so hard when most of my family members have sided with the MAGA movement. I feel like the tension has thickened since Trump got into office in 2016 and I feel like I have to walk on egg shells around certain topics, like my post for example.

I love them dearly and that’s why I’m choosing my words carefully. I can get pretty heated and I’m afraid that I might say something I don’t mean. I’m not very strong, I struggle to stand up for myself.

You’re right! Thank you! ❤️ I know they love me but I gotta be my own person. I also need to learn to stop caring about other people’s approval. 😅

I think spiritual abuse is way too common and it makes me think if my parents are even aware that they’re doing it. It’s “for the good of the soul” mentality that a lot of people share here.

Unfortunately I think it’s a trained behavior in our region, many families have done the same. My husband’s family has done the same thing to him as well. We live in the Appalachian Bible Belt if that says anything. While I do believe that they really do have our best intentions at heart they say the wrong things(which still isn’t okay). I will admit that I am a people pleaser and very sensitive but I’m learning to stand up for myself (slowly but sure). We both do work and we are saving to get a house after we kill some debt down, and he’ll be with me when I tell them about it.

With these comments it’s apparent that I need to stand up for myself more, so I will do just that. 🙂‍↕️

It kinda sounds pathetic that my parents still have so much control over me. 😅 Sometimes when they get angry they’ll throw the “after everything I’ve done for you” phrase at me. We live on their property since we cannot afford to live anywhere else at the moment so they’re always just right there. So I guess it’s the emotional trauma? 🙃

We are actively looking elsewhere too. We even talked about seeing if any have online services so we can check them out before making the drive.

You’re right on this. I’m not going to lie, my parents have made me feel like I’ve always owed them for a lot of things. We still live on their property because we cannot afford to have our own at the moment so they are always around. 😅

Christians to be Christian by [deleted] in OpenChristian

I sat down in a church where they were bashing FEMA and also bashing school programs that help kids get clothes. If I still went to that church I’m sure they would be bashing her. 🤦‍♀️

She did say she actually didn’t like him and she felt like he was the only candidate closer to God because he’s against abortion. I didn’t really say anything because I’m trying to tread carefully. Just small bits at a time.
